General Contractor - Calverton, NY
My name is Robert Wilson, I am the owner and operator of Inside Out Home Construction. Although this is a new company, I am not new to Long Island home construction industry. My family has been involved in the home construction industry on the east end of Long Island since 1950. In 1950 my grandfather Albert Styler and his brother in law, Ernest Julckey made a momentous decision that would impact our family for generation to come. Together they left Brooklyn, NY for Eastern Long Island and the Town of Southampton, NY to open a business building quaint summer cottages. They built many summer cottages throughout the Hamptons. The Ford Family, the Dupont Family, and the Hilton Family were among several other wealthy industrialists that had cottages built by my grandfather & uncle. By 1955, the business developed into a year-round new home construction company as well as a cabinetry shop. Styler and Son Building became well known on the East End. For me growing up very close to my grandfather and spending a great deal of time with him, watching, learning and of course helping taught me a great deal about home construction, land scaping and real estate. After high school, I joined the United States Air Forces and was medically retire from the Air Force in the early 1980’s I attended college receiving degrees in Management & Finances I went to work on Wall Street. I joined the firm of Thomson McKinnion division of asset management Columbus Circle Asset Management. At Columbus Circle, I was employed as the comanager of a real estate private investment fund taking me back to my family roots. After my grandfather passed, mu uncle continued in the family home construction business until he retired in 1989. I continued in the finance business until 2002 I was given an opportunity to return to my family roots as a project manager for a well-known Hamptons contractor. In performing my duties as project manager, I could apply all the skills I leaned in my life construction, finances and management to manage major projects in the Hamptons. One of those projects was the renovation of a house originally built for J.P. Morgan. The two homes on the 7.5 acer estate was completely gutted reframed and refinished inside and out and was sold by the investor for $65 million the largest price ever paid for a home in the United States at the time. Since then I worked in the home construction industry and pursued other ventures (including a NASCAR Team). This year, 2017, destiny brought me back to my roots when I formed Inside Out Home Construction and became a Hamilton Construction Services Dealer. My goal with Inside Out Home Construction is to provide Long Islanders with affordable quality home construction or renovation services. In addition, the Hamilton dealership offers us the ability to upgrade our quality of new home or renovation service with Hamilton’s state of the art panelized construction system. -Robert Wilson
