Thank you Appliance Repair Center! I have a GE built in refrigerator that I bought brand new and is still covered by an extended warranty until Sept '15. After noticing water pooling under the freezer side and realizing that the icemaker looked like a frozen glacier, I obviously called GE to come out and fix it. Well, my first appointment doesn't happen because their truck broke down and they couldn't send anyone else. The next appointment (4 days later), the GE guy says he doesn't have the parts and has to order them. He also says it's a two man job and the next soonest appointment isn't for 8 days. Now keep in mind, this whole time I have water pooling on the floor that I'm constantly mopping up. I ask if I can at least shut the water off, but am told that the water turn off is behind the fridge on the wall and can't be accessed because it's a built in model. So, 8 days later (yesterday), two GE guys show up and spend over an hour replacing parts and working on it. They say it's fixed. A few hours after they leave, same problem - nothing has changed. I call again, they say nobody can come out for two more days! Well last night, I'm wiping up water and notice up above in the top compartment of the fridge that there is water leaking and spraying from a small hose. This has obviously been the problem the whole time. How two supposed "professionals" from GE didn't see any of this (after I told them and showed them the constant dripping under the fridge, I have no idea. They were giving me a song and dance about the condenser fan, mother board, etc. - all of which they replaced and wasn't even the problem to begin with. I see that this leaky hose is now really spraying a lot of water and it can't wait until my next GE appointment which isn't for two days. It was about 7 pm last night and something had to be done fast. Obviously, both GE and my extended warranty folks have no such thing as an emergency service to take care of this stuff after hours, so I broke open the yellow pages and found Appliance Repair Center. I called hoping that someone would be able to come over immediately and I spoke with a technician. After a few short questions about the problem, he was on his way. He arrived very quickly, came in and had the problem fixed in ten minutes - something TWO GE technicians didn't even see, much less fix, in two separate appointments for a total of probably two hours of work!! The technician also showed me that there is a very easily accessible water turn off on a hose that is reachable underneath the fridge and that GE was wrong in telling me that the shut off was on the wall behind it. If I knew that two weeks ago, I would have just shut it off instead of mopping up water on the floor. Overall the technician was knowledgeable, professional, and very friendly. Thank you very much for coming over so quickly and fixing what GE obviously couldn't fix on their own. Nice to know that I spend $5500 on a big built in fridge and extra $$ on an extended warranty and GE left me out in the cold with lazy and incompetent service. This is the last time I purchase anything from GE, much less an extended warranty. Thanks again ARC, I really appreciate you coming over last night at the last minute and taking care of business. GE could learn a thing or two from you!!!!!
