Freedom Construction Services Todd Shannon Construction Manager/Estimator He came out several times, measured, took photos each time. We borrowed against our house to update our home. We patiently waited for him to show up on the days he stated he would be here. Every time was a no show/no call. Never an explanation except one time he stated he was in a meeting and he’d see us the next day. The last time, January, my husband spoke to Todd he was suppose to be at the house with the written estimate so our appraiser could view it and make sure we were borrowing the correct amount of money. Once again, Todd never showed but stated he’d be there the next day. Nope not then either. We have yet to receive the estimate Todd was suppose to bring us. I had bought everything I thought he would need from paint, cabinets, sink, you name it. Everything here so he could do the work. I guess it wasn’t enough money for his time. My husband and I both are in our mid to late 60’s with health issues yet here we are doing what a contractor promised he’d do. My husband does good to walk around most days. I was told numerous times this was a veteran owned company which is why we wanted to use them. And they treat an Army veteran, my husband, like this? I just wanted you to be aware of how he did us. Shameful! On a closing note, I am big on reviews and I do write reviews. I will be writing a review on Todd and the company he works for on every site I find. This company was unprofessional throughout the process. The estimator did not want to give the itemized invoice to our adjuster right from the beginning. We were told that the job would be finished in a couple of weeks but wound up taking almost 3 months because the jobs foreman kept telling us he would be there and then would give different excuses as to why he did not make it. The work performed was mediocre with multiple quality issues that had to be redone. The job foreman and employees actually got in an argument with our tenant. The final invoice sent to the insurance adjuster was not accurate so the release of funds on the claim was withheld. We are still waiting for the issue to be resolved. It has been two weeks since I paid a large percentage of the invoice. I have asked for a receipt for payment paid for services multiple times and have not yet received it. I also have not received a response to any emails. The whole process has been a nightmare. I do not know if this company is going through growing pains or what the issue is but I would discourage anyone from hiring them at this time.
