This is a great company with honest hard working team members. I have worked at other companies in the charlotte area and have never seen people so dedicated to giving back to their community and their people. These past 2 weeks as a new employee have been an eye opening experience for me. I feel as though I have found a family not a new job. if you value honesty, integrity, and hard work then this is the kind of company that you would want to care for any of your outdoorzy needs.

They do beautiful work! I had searched for a company for several months before I found metro greenscape. All of the other companies took forever to respond, never showed up for the initial appointment or didn't follow up after our meeting. With metro greenscape, that never happened. They always responded immediately. I love the craftsmanship of my firepit and new deck! Recently I hired them to do my lawn maintenance and they do a perfect job each time. I can't wait to do phase 2 and 3! I highly recommend metro greenscape and cannot imagine how anyone could not be thrilled with their work. Pros: beautiful finished product, Contentious workers, great people, timely work Cons: more expensive than other places

The Outdoor Extravaganza | Jul 2015 | This customer wanted an outdoor living special space. They wanted to have a place to relax and entertain, but also be able to let the children play in this area, and have space for gardens to grow and expand. | $107k | Fort Mill, SC
complete landscape overhaul | Sep 2014 | This client with five children wanted a backyard in which each child could enjoy their favorite activity while giving the parents the space they needed to relax and unwind. With the home being an older home there were many obstacles that had to be overcome on the project. One of the main obstacles was the brick walls that surrounded the home. The brick was very old and had to be matched because of the other homes that backed up to the property line. Both the garage and one of the brick walls had to be removed in order to open up space on the property. A bluestone patio was constructed and extended on the property. Another obstacle was blending the large trees that were already on the property with the rest of the landscape. Working with a partner tree company they were able to remove the older trees that had a deep root system. Mature arborvitae plants such espalier and camellia were planted along with trellises that that were built to grow confederate jasmine. The pool build was a challenge do to the underground systems that had to be built to take care of the property drainage. Bluestone was used for the pool build and the pool was rectangular in shape with a raised spa giving the pool a clean line modern look. A pool house was built that matched the architecture of the home. | $265k | Charlotte, NC
Creation of multi-level patio terrace | Jul 2014 | This project came with a great deal of challenges. The client has a walk out basement with the exit under a second story deck. The property also slopes severely from the driveway to the back yard. The client wanted to incorporate a multi-level terrace of patios as well as incorporate natural boulder elements. The challenge was incorporating the severe slope to give access from the driveway to the back yard as well as create three different entertaining areas. Drainage also had to be considered due to the amount of hardscape areas that were to be installed. Another challenge faced with the use of the boulders. The client wanted boulders from an empty lot next door. Coordinating with the builder who owned the vacant lot was a challenge. A deadline for a birthday party was also looming over us in the midst of a week of down time due to afternoon rain storms. The design layout was very important to understand prior to construction. Before we started digging, elevations were shot and double checked. The upper terrace incorporates the area under the deck. A long step was created to drop down to the second terrace being used for a seating area. The third terrace steps down again where a fire pit sits in the middle of the paver patio. A three piece Belgard Cambridge paver was used on all three terraces with the angle of the paver changing on each terrace. The client also wanted to incorporate boulders for seating areas instead of the traditional double sided seating wall. Steps were built from Belgard Stonegate Wall Sheffield Beige Black product. The steps were incased with a short retaining wall and blended into the paver patio area. Elegant low voltage lighting using LED brass fixtures was installed under every other step for easy access down the staircase. | $44k | Harrisburg, NC
Installation of a complete outdoor living space | Jun 2014 | There were many obstacles that had to be overcome for this project. First was the extreme grade issues with dirt and access points to the back yard. Very mature landscape surrounded the home and several mature trees had to be removed to gain access to the back yard. The home backed up to the community golf course and the property sloped severely from the back of the home down to the greens of the golf course. The design layout of the swimming pool, paver decking, outdoor kitchen, and pergola had to be precise. The clients wanted a mix of natural elements as well as modern clean lines. We chipped out a small mountain side by bringing in just over 100 tons of boulders to build natural retaining walls to build up the back yard to accommodate the swimming pool installation. Doing this also gave the client a level back yard area for their family to enjoy. The basement had no access to the back yard, so we removed a set of windows and installed a set of French doors to give access to the back yard. The client chose a neutral color Belgard paver for the pool decking to coordinate with the rose color brick of the home as well as the natural stone for the outdoor kitchen veneer. | $281k | Charlotte, NC
entire landscape overhaul | May 2014 | This project was an entire landscape overhaul built in the middle of a very cold and snowy winter. The client purchased an older home in a very prestigious part of Myers Park and the area around the home had to be kept clean during construction. The client was having issues with water filtrating into the basement of the home due to the overgrown landscape and grade of the property. We had to coordinate with another company who was handling the water in the basement to make sure the grade of the existing plantings beds were lowered so that water-proofing could be completed on the outside of the home. We installed underground drainage tying in the gutters on the home so that water drained away from the home. We had to make sure the stumps and root systems of the existing landscape were removed so that no further damage could be done to the foundation of the home. The entire property was re-graded so that there was a positive water flow away from the home. Root growth was a major consideration when determining the new plantings to be installed. We also had to locate mature nursery stock since the location and age of the home warranted a more mature landscape. Tents and heaters were put in place to keep new shrubbery and plants safe from the outdoor elements. We also had to take into consideration that the lack of sunlight and choose plantings that would thrive in mostly shade areas. We used a variety of azaleas, hostas, ferns, Lenten rose, and holly shrubs to create a mixture of height and texture to the landscape. Large canopy trees created a great back ground to the natural landscape. New Fescue sod was installed to prevent erosion in the lawn since the entire property was re-graded for the positive water flow. Recycled brick pavers and blue stone were used to give the design an inspired 18th century meets modern day look. Dead space was filled with an outdoor kitchen and french doors were later installed allowing the family direct access to their outdoor kitchen. | $289k | Charlotte, NC
A courtyard filled with harmony and beauty | Dec 2013 | This property contained a courtyard that was filled with perennials that the homeowners tended to for ten to twelve years. They wanted to turn the courtyard into an outdoor living area but they wanted to keep the ability to garden. To solve this the living space was filled with raised planters that contained both perennials and a garden variety of spices and vegetables. An outdoor kitchen was built so the couple could entertain both friends and family. Being that the homeowner was a well-respected author he wanted the outdoor space to be a place where he could relax and write in a serene atmosphere. This was obtained with the addition of a cascading rock fountain. The couple traveled to various areas in Europe and the look and feel of these areas had to be incorporated into the design but keeping the surrounding neighborhoods look and feel was important. The biggest challenge with this project was the all brick courtyard that had to be changed out one brick at a time. | $43k | Charlotte, NC
