Schiene Painting & Home Maintenance

Initially, I felt comfortable with what Charlie told me that he could do during my kitchen renovation. He had one very talented worker, Joe, who was very meticulous in doing what he had to do in removing a wall and screwing together cabinets for an island. However, nothing was done to protect my belongings from the dust that bringing down that wall created. When I realized this, I threw sheets and blankets over my electronics and furniture throughout the house. (I am still trying to remove dust. Then, Joe told me that he did not have the right equipment, he and Charlie argued, etc. Charlie wrote up a contract that called for him to paint 5 cabinets and a bookcase including the costs; then when the wall came down and they had to remove the tile underneath, everyone became flustered and acted as if I should have known that. Joe was so frustrated that he did not clean up he mess that he had made on his last day there and I was left again, to clean up behind them. The drywall replacement and painting that was required after the wall was torn down was half done; the painting of the cabinets was half done, and I had to complete myself. I will have to call another professional ??? in to fix the drywall "repair" that they did. Charlie "forgot" to paint the bookcase and did not anchor a pantry cabinet to the wall as originally agreed and contracted for. When I asked Charlie about the painting, he told me that he was doing me a "favor" since he had to remove the tile upon removal of the wall. I asked for no favors. Joe was basically the only one who did much work, without the proper resources, as far as I could see. If you choose to use this company, make sure that you get every single detail in writing, to include protection of the surrounding areas while they work, cleaning behind themselves and making sure that they have completed everything on the list. Sounds like a lot of work? It is! I paid the price and truthfully would not recommend this company for work in your home. I even contacted the company again to tell them about the drywall and painting. that was 4 days ago, no one has tried to make this right. Highly disappointed!

1 star is being nice. Charlie really has no idea how to run a business or how to keep his word. When he didn't complete something he promised he told me, and I quote, "I can't remember everything". He never showed up when he said he would, and will ask you for payment before he's done with a sob story to pay his workers and then not finish the job. Save yourself the massive headache and find another painting company.

I was extremely happy with Schiene Painting. They painted my entire interior of my home. They worked very hard, very professional and cleaned up everyday. I would highly recommend this company. Patti
