Bennett Remodeling was the general contractor assigned to our remodeling project which consisted of flooring, painting, front door, shower, kitchen appliances, carpeting, countertops and kitchen cabinets. The front door and carpeting were completed by department specific contractors and were the only two projects to be done smoothly. I will use Bennett Remodeling instead of individual names. Bennett Remodeling and a five person crew started on the painting. Paint was flushed down a floor drain in the basement, which we never would have known about had our hot water heater not sprung a leak, flooding a portion of the basement. A licensed plumber came out to fix the hot water heater and pulled out globs and globs of purple and pink paint from the drain which is why the water would not drain. Paint was also flushed down the kitchen sink into the garbage disposal. I had to pull out the globs from the disposal. Flooring was started next. We did a wood laminate wide plank. Bennett Remodeling’s crew started in the master bedroom and the living room at the same time, but was not finished the same day. The next day Bennett Remodeling hired a guy he said lived next door to him who claimed he could do flooring. The guy finished off the flooring, but when the board seams didn't match up from the living room to the master bedroom, instead of stopping, he completed the entire first floor except for the kitchen. There are gaps in several places, which Bennett Remodeling tried to cover up with wood putty and then smearing wood varnish over. Now the putty is cracking up and I have a smear in the middle of the family room from the varnish. There are boards along the baseboard that were cut improperly and you can see the cut edge because they are not under the base boards. Bennett Remodeling started on the kitchen next. Instead of reading the remodeling plans my designer did, Bennett Remodeling reinstalled the new cabinets in the exact place the old cabinets were, which made them too high. So when he got to the wall oven cabinet and the built in refrigerator panels, Bennett Remodeling had to build them up at the bottom so they were the same height. The lower cabinets next to the wall oven are now not in line with each other. The sink plumbing was not glued together which eventually caused a pipe to come apart and leak. After the cabinets were set, the rest of the flooring was put in the kitchen, but the board seams from the kitchen were not even close to matching up with the boards from the living and dining rooms. Next came the new shower install. When it came time for the plumbing, Bennett Remodeling cut the old vent pipe which had to be moved with the relocation of a wall. The old vent pipe was not capped off properly where Bennett Remodeling cut it, so moisture from the roof caused the old pipe to leak, causing the drywall patch to start falling down. When plumbing was done in the basement, Bennett Remodeling had to cut into our main sewer line three times and when put back together, Bennett Remodeling siliconed the pipes instead of using plumbers glue. Each time we had issues with plumbing we had to have an actual licensed plumber come and fix the issues. One night Bennett Remodeling was working until about 7pm downstairs on the plumbing. Bennett Remodeling never came back upstairs that we noticed and Bennett Remodeling’s crew was cleaning up and leaving. Come to find out, instead of coming upstairs, Bennett Remodeling opened a basement window, removed the screen and crawled out the window and left. My designer said Bennett Remodeling didn't want to track dirt through the living room, which had been going on all day. Bennett Remodeling didn't even have the courtesy to replace the screen and close the window which remained open for over a day before saw it. Just overall very unprofessional, Bennett Remodeling took more breaks during the day than necessary. One day they were supposed to be here at 8am, didn't show up until 10:00 and only worked until 4pm. Of the six hours, Bennett Remodeling only worked three. Each and every time they left, I was left with cleaning up the floors from all the dirt tracked back and forth, paint on floors, countertops and sinks. We had to clean up trash outside our home such as cigarette butts in the garage and driveway, half empty drinks, half empty milk shake containers I would find in my freezer. I would not recommend Bennett Remodeling to anyone, especially if there is plumbing involved. One of the licensed plumbers who had to come and fix the botched plumbing in the basement said he was shocked that the siliconed sewer pipes didn't burst. Four months into this project and still not completed. Ended up having to request a new GC to finish.

We are in the middle of fixing up a house I inherited to sell. Over the course of this project, we discovered some mold issues and had to dismantle the kitchen to clean it up. Once this was finished, my mom made several phone calls to find a contractor to put it back together. The only person to call her back was Tony Bennett. Seemed like a really nice guy, reasonable prices, blah blah. Anyway, they started on a Saturday. We were told it should only take a couple of weeks at the most. It took four weeks. First there was usually only one guy over there working. The times we were there working on other stuff, he seemed to kind of dilly dally around, not really working a whole lot. We were told several times they would be over on this day or that day and half of those days we were there, they never showed up. My mom was told multiple times they would get it "knocked out" tonight or tomorrow. On the fourth week, we had had enough. When we confronted him, he came up with the excuse that they ran into issues that we didn't know about. I find this hard to believe since the kitchen was half gutted. Anyway, he was yelling at my mom at this point. Then proceeded to mumble under his breath like a teenager. Very professional right? We went back over a couple of days later and what was left of my paint had been opened and left to dry out. I had to buy more paint because of this. We were missing some other little things as well. Every time I went over there, I had to clean up their trash. Half empty sodas everywhere, cigarette butts on the front porch. They even put a can of soda in a drawer and it spilled in the new cabinets. And we had to clean it up. Anyway, my mom ended up paying him the full amount because he was getting angry and we just wanted him to go. We had to go back and fix several things they did and finish the job they couldn't. He has a 3 man crew, including himself, and one of his guys told us they had 5 jobs going at the same time. Too much for a 3 man crew. But it's his fault he over books them. I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone.
