We hired J Spear back in April to install a new electrical panel; upgraded to 200 AMP with surge protection. It is now July and we have had a major surge. We hired another electrician to inspect the issue only to find 1) surge protection had never actually been installed 2) it had never been inspected internally by the county 3) much of the work was done unprofessionally (see photos). We called and requested they come out today to fix the problem only to be met with "well it works so" and the silent treatment once we opened the panel. They replaced the breaker I was told by the other electrician was wrong for the box (See yellow label on a breaker in photo) while telling me it wasn't a problem. Then wrapped a wire I was told was exposed while telling me it also wasn't an issue. We discussed other issues, cosmetic and actual, and we were told they didn't need fixed. After discussing the lack of surge protection, they said they didn't have the part and would have to go receive it. They left and didn't return, so I requested a refund of the original project. Update: We called and had an inspection done by the county and they did not pass. They have fixed the issues to code and gave a refund of $25 to amend the lack of surge protection. Lesson learned, work with actual professionals who offer a detailed contract.
