Interior Designer - Clifton, VA
A Painted House Vintage Interiors was launched as a small cottage business out of the Virginia garage of interior decorator Sharon West who friends say has a knack for seeing beauty in things most would consider long past their prime. Picking up antiques and furniture finds here and there, she began painting and reworking pieces to breathe fresh style into everything from farm tables to dressers, chests, mirrors, benches, desks, chairs, mantelpieces and more. Her pieces began selling so quickly she couldn't keep up with the demand and opened up a space in an antique mall in historic Manassas Va. West started by designing her own painted furniture and business quickly branched out to include her favorite vintage finds, textiles, and eclectic one-of-a-kind home accessories. She currently is one of four designers offering painted furniture and accessories at the Clifton Barn Sale twice a year but also shares her work with buyers through numerous online outlets, her facebook page, and growing list of clients, family and friends. The iconic bumblebee-and-wreath logo is an actual photograph from one of her first pieces to sell, a red washstand. The business was named after one of West's favorite stories by novelist John Grisham titled "A Painted House" which tells the story of a poor family in the 1950s who triumphed over adversity in order to have the ultimate sign of class status - a painted house.
