  | Sawdy | Jul 2014 | This was a new install. We excavated the site, and installed our substrate. We then installed the wiring and conduit for the integral lighting. Next came the forming, pouring, stamping, and carving of the pad itself. Once that was completed, the grill surround, benches, and fireplace were formed out of dimensional lumber. These were all then wrapped with stucco screen, along with the exposed foundation. A scratch coat of mortar was applied and allowed to cure, which would give the following vertical concrete application and increased surface area to bond to. The following day, 2" of vertical concrete was applied. This is a stampable and completely customizable product; it can be applied over virtually any vertical surface and can be stamped, smooth troweled, etc to any specifications. It also has up to 50 coloring options. Once the vertical profiles were completed, we formed and poured the countertops, caps by the grill, benches, and the horizontal surfaces surrounding the fireplace. Finally, it was time for some color! The coloring process used on this job is an acrylic stain, and is applied by hand. This allows us to closely replicate the appearance of natural stone. Once the coloring is complete, a stain was applied to encapsulate the color, and protect against weather and traffic. | $15k | Whitesboro, NY |
