Stairways | Feb 2017 | Here are some examples of some stairways we have remodeled. | Collinsville, CT
Furniture | Nov 2016 | A client of ours had some ideas for some special furniture pieces. Dennis and Tom really made those ideas a reality! The oyster chair is functional, comfortable and one of a kind. The built in bar is solid wood construction with a face frame of hundreds of pieces of wood and a metallic finish. | Collinsville, CT
Exteriors | Oct 2016 | At Amber, we have cultivated a neoclassical style, matching elegance with careful execution. Our designs are inspired by period architecture books, but it is not enough that our homes just look the part. Since our niche has been refined over more than two decades, we have a strong network of vendor resources from which to obtain period construction materials whenever possible, such as recycled timbers, stone and flooring. We also have millwork capacity for making custom, vintage-look materials to smoothly complement period items. Most of our construction work is implemented from our own designs, but we can and have worked with outside architects. We also have strong relationships with talented landscape architects who can enhance home exteriors, crafting a look to suit particular environs. | Collinsville, CT
Interiors | Sep 2016 | Amber’s homes are meant to be lived in. While the look may be reminiscent of an older time, the feel is relaxed, cozy and convenient. We believe elegance can coexist with comfort and can adapt the neoclassical look to meet modern-day demands. All mechanicals are modern and state-of-the-art but are incorporated into the esthetic without overcoming it. As with our exteriors, we try to use as much vintage material as possible and call upon our extensive network of vendors to unearth distinctive pieces: plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, fireplaces, old beams dredged from bogs, housing hardware. When actual period pieces are not available, we contract with peerless craftsmen who can fashion superb facsimiles. Our work is distinguished by attention to detail. | Collinsville, CT |
