Fraud Alert- Be aware of Anthony’s Chimney Sweeps. August 16, 2022 I contacted Anthony’s Chimney Sweeps to bid on chimney repairs. I will say, Anthony was very prompt on replying and followed up with a visit and wrote up a bid for repairs. He indicated it would be two weeks before work could be completed. He cashed the deposit check and I assumed the repairs would be completed. In September, Anthony called to say it would be another several weeks. On October 5, 2022 I sent a text asking if the work was going to completed on October 17 as scheduled for the third time. Anthony called back and indicated all supplies were ready for the repairs. On October 12, the day before work was scheduled, Melinda, Office Manager for Anthony called to say the repairs would again have to rescheduled as the supplies were not ready. She also said if the supplies were not ready the following week a full refund for the deposit would be sent the following week. I sent back a text to Melinda, about my displeasure on another delay and that I no longer had faith Anthony was going to do the repairs and wish to have my deposit refunded. She said a check would be mailed on the 19th of October. By the end of October, the refund check had not arrived so I sent another message by text and mail. Anthony’s Chimney Sweeps is not longer returning messages and I can only assume this has been fraud from the beginning. I don’t believe Anthony ever intended to do the repairs, that he cashed my deposit check, is not going to refund my money as promised. This is theft. Why does this person have a good review on Home Advisors?

SCAM ARTIST. Anthony called the company I work for because he wasn't able to fix HIS customers Fireplace. Said he would be footing the bill... 6 months later, Anthony never answers or the last time he did, he hung up on me. I wish I would have googled this guy before agreeing to service his customers on his dime. This man has scammed MANY MANY MANY people before us. Look at his reviews on Yelp! No wonder it says your closed. I wouldn't want anyone reading that about my business either.

One of the worst and frustrating vendor experience I have encountered! Showed up for our original visit (6/9/22) to review the work needed and submit a bid. Work was estimated at $700 for connections, repairs, cleaning, gaskets, etc. Gave him $350 to order parts. When he came back (6/30/22), not only did he not have the parts but the wood stove piping collapsed during his servicing causing damage to our newly and freshly painted living room wall (all done as we had just bought the home and moved in). It was at this time he stated he needed to get parts from his shop but with the 4th of July weekend upon us, he would need to come back on Saturday, July 9th. Not only did he not show on the 9th but he never communicated back to us until we were able to finally connect with him (using another phone number as we had been blocked) on 7/13/22. He proceeded to let us know that he had passed us on to someone else because "that's what owners do" he claimed. He went on to justify this by stating he would be having a meeting with his team the next morning to discuss ways of doing business better while verifying that we had his personal mobile number and to use it as needed. He agreed to reschedule the completion of this project on 7/18/22 by personally showing up and that he would not charge us the $350 balance as a customer service gesture. Well guess what? Our scheduled appointment time/day has come and gone and another no show and no call from Anthony's. Our calls are going directly to voicemail. Messages have been left and yet again, no returned communications back. Not only does he have and cashed our $350 (which I can only imagine will not be returned) but I am left to start over searching for the next vendor to complete our needed wood stove repairs and the wall damages left behind by Anthony's. So much for customer service, training and leading by example. Excuses, pointing the finger and throwing others "under the bus" is not what "good" owners and businesses do! UPDATE - on 7/19/22, vendor responded to my Angi/Home Advisor review stating "check was in the mail." Today is 7/29/22 and still waiting to receive. Looks like I am among the many to struggle and be fooled by this guy.
