I live in AZ and own a rental property in Colorado Springs. I hired Tristan to do some work at my house in the summer of 2020 when I transitioned tenants, things like replace a faucet and door knob, repair a pillar in the front of the house and torn window screen, seal cracked concrete, etc. I met with him and provided the task list. He accomplished everything in the several days I was there before I returned to AZ. After I returned home, I asked him to replace the garbage disposal and stain the deck. About a month after he replaced the door knob, my tenant contacted me and said the door knob fell off. I informed Tristan and he went to the house to fix it. A few weeks later the tenant said it fell off again as did a towel ring he installed. He sent an associate to fix the door knob and towel ring. He also informed me the deck was stained by his associate. I asked for pictures and it appeared the step stringer and rim joist on the deck had not been stained. I asked Tristan about it and he said they were stained. I asked him to double check, so he went back to the house and agreed the step stringer and rim joist had not been stained properly. He sent his associate back out to complete the job. I asked for pictures again and it appeared a darker stain was used on the step stringer and rim joist. He said it was because the picture was taken when it was still wet and that made it look darker. I accepted his explanation. A little over a week ago I returned to the house in CO for the first time since last summer to perform my annual inspection. I was shocked at what I saw. There were stain splatter spots all around the siding of the house near the deck. Also, it was evident two different stain colors were used on the deck. Finally, the pillar he repaired was falling apart. I texted photos of all these issues to Tristan and asked him to contact me so we could discuss a remedy. I did not hear from him. I called and left a voice mail but no response. I texted him one more time on July 30 but have yet to hear from him. He seems like a nice person but based on his sloppy workmanship and unwillingness to respond and address these issues, I cannot recommend him.
