Many new or emerging businesses will offer great deals on carpet cleaning but the problem is that ..they're new and have little experience.They will offer you some remarkable price that essentially sets them apart from the rest. BEWARE! You may end up getting screwed and have to have an experienced professional come and reclean your carpet. Don't fall for the lowest prices! Carpet professionals like any business owners have expenses.They have to take their overhead into consideration when quoting a price for you. 2) Many carpet cleaning businesses will offer you a good price but when you ask them about stains they will quote you an additional charge.Carpet cleaning means just that...working with stains! Many reputable businesses operate this way and I'm at a loss to understand why the public falls for it.Working on stains is part of the process of cleaning carpet...there should be NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. 3) All pricing should be inclusive.Always get a fixed price if you know the exact areas that you want cleaned or a negotiable price, especially if there are details that can't be explained such as (what constitutes an area?) Ask about any extra charges. 4) Don't fall for the use of STEAM and then an extra charge is added on if Rotary Brushes are used. Get this clear form the start. IN FACT! Don't use steam at all....! 5) STEAM doesn't clean soiled carpet.Of course, it's okay if your carpet is new or slightly soiled.When in doubt-always go for a Rotary Brush and Extraction method that deep cleans. We're the only business that I know of that uses this old fashioned method. I'll explain... 6) Baseboard edges (dust and soil accumulation at the edges of carpet): The lines of soil along baseboards are caused by neglect-believe it or not from those who rarely vacuum that close to the wall. Nine out of ten homes that we clean have this problem, although it shows more so on light colored carpet. This is an accumulation of environmental dust and minute furnace residue, that settles between the carpet pile and the padding. Over time, it penetrates into the very edges of the carpet pile, setting between the two different layers. It is almost impossible to remove. although it can be lightened somewhat (more so by rotary ) than steam, but in the end-it will remain a visible reminder of the need to vacuum closely when carpet is installed. It doesn't take long for this accumulation to begin, because most home owners don't have their furnace ducts cleaned on a regular basis-and when they do, often it's after the damage has occurred. Rotary brushes can get as close as possible to those edges that are unsightly, but you will still have that residue at the edges from the aforementioned causes. There simply is no way to remove that tell-tale accumulation once it becomes apparent( but it can be lightened possibly) so there is hope! In summary, Yes..! .It takes us longer than 20 minutes to do this. Most Steam cleaners will supposedly clean an entire house in 45-50 minutes, Ask yourself this...How can one possibly clean 5-7 areas of carpet in such a short amount of time..?
