My experience with Norstar over a year ago: I had them put in a $12,000 furnace and heat pump. After the installation, I noticed that they completely destroyed my perfect electrical panel by chopping and pulling wires in a way that was unbelievably sloppy. They told me afterwards that their work didn't need an inspection. A year later, they called me and told me to write a number on the inside of the panel, and that it needed to be inspected. The first inspector failed their electrical work. The second inspection also failed due to the wrong breakers being used. The third inspection failed due to no conduit on exterior wiring and also no outlet close enough to the heat pump. It got to the point where I just couldn't take it anymore so I asked if I could hire my own electrician, and they offered to reimburse me for the cost - so I hired a different company to do the corrections, and that time it passed. This was an additional $1500 that I had to pay. I sent the bill to Norstar and they proceeded to deny saying that they would pay for it. I am now in the beginning of my second winter using the heating system, and the system no longer works. I am now having to rely on my space heaters for heat when it is in the single digits outside. I've tried to contact Norstar several times and they just keep putting me off. If I could give them negative 50 stars, I would. This is a company that shouldn't be allowed to exist. If you are thinking of hiring them for your heating and cooling needs, DON'T. They are not honest and they don't stand by their work. Hate is not a strong enough word.

This company is TERRIBLE!!! One star is TOO MANY!!! Not only once BUT twice they came to our house, broke something and then WE had to pay for it. If you try to talk sense into them they just lie right to your face. I tried to go in and talk to them about my most recent issue and they brushed me off. Our heater needed to be cleaned and was working fine. In fact, it was on when the guy came in and he waited until the heater finished it's cycle. Well, magically, he touched it and it didn't work anymore. He had no idea what was wrong and spent a lot of time on the phone and taking pictures. He couldn't fix it. Next day a new guy comes back and claims it's not working because again magically the piece that was working when they came into the house just stopped the second they touched it (yeah right). But he didn't have the part. Had to come back. Waited 3 days and heard nothing. Mind you, we froze our butts off waiting for them to come back. Finally shows up and puts it in. Charges us for 3 trip fees, on top of the part and the reason he was actually there (which was just to clean it, nothing more). $233... when it was supposed to be $109. Owner doesn't care. And made it clear to us, he would do nothing to work with us because OUR HEATER WAS WORKING FINE BEFORE THEY SHOWED UP. The sole reason we were having it cleaned was because we sold our house and the buyer requested it. It's been perfect for 5 years. Not a single problem. And these jerks touch it and "it's broken"... yeah right. If you go to them, expect to pay WAY more. Because I guarantee... "something will be magically broken". Horrible customer service! A few months prior we had them fix our heater in the kitchen and the thermostat, which again worked perfect before they showed up, magically broke the minute they walked in... I'm seeing a pattern here... stay away from the crooked company!
