Landscape Architect & Designer - Conshohocken, PA
Secluded Gardens provides residential landscape design services for our customers. Landscape design is the process we use to define the exterior of our homes. Garden style should compliment the architecture of the house and the people who live in it. In addition to beautification, landscaping should make your property more functional. With the use of patios, ornamental trees, shrubs, perennials, and site accessories, a good landscape design will define outdoor rooms, open spaces, and create private hideaways. Landscape designers are specifically trained in creating functional and aesthetic outdoor spaces. As designers, we strive to find a balance between what is appealing to our customers and what would make their outdoor experience more enjoyable. Color preferences, textures, scents, style, and use of the space is all taken into consideration when Secluded Gardens creates a landscape master plan.

Stonework Terrace | May 2011 | This terrace features a wet-laid flagstone terrace with natural stone sitting walls capped with flagstone. The pergola is equipped with a ceiling fan to help keep the terrace cool on hot summer days. Another pergola leads guests from the driveway. | Radnor, PA
Rustic Fireplace | Apr 2010 | This small backyard features a paver patio with sitting walls and a rustic fireplace. A Japanese Cut-leaf Maple offers good color contrast to the green plants along the walkway. An intimate patio space for outdoor entertaining at it's best. | Berwyn, PA
Small Patio and Gardens | Jun 2009 | This small property is less than a 1/4 acre but the patio and gardens create a private haven for entertaining and relaxing. Sitting walls all around the patio provide year round seating. A white Crapemyrtle provides privacy on the patio and late summer flowers when most other shrubs are done blooming. | Conshohocken, PA
Townhouse Backyard | Jun 2008 | Our clients wanted to turn their townhouse backyard into a large patio with gardens all around so they didn't have to cut grass! In addition, we used a few trees to create some much needed privacy from the parking lot and second story windows. | Schwenksville, PA
Natural Garden Steps | Apr 2007 | It's a steep slope from the driveway to the backyard. Keeping in tune with the surrounding properties, the clients wanted to create a naturalistic staircase to access the backyard. Using small garden steppers, we created a staircase in the slope with gardens on either side. An arbor at the driveway marks the entrance of the staircase. As you wind your way down the slope there are flowering shrubs and perennials blooming throughout spring and summer. At the bottom, you arrive at a small paver patio off the basement sliding doors. Another path meets up with the steps for the second story deck. | Blue Bell, PA
Grand Terrace | May 2006 | This large formal terrace showcases three different seating areas and an in ground spa. The primary area off the sliding doors has a large open space with a table for family meals. There is also a smaller table where 3 or 4 people can comfortably sit and share conversation. The focal point of the entire terrace is an outdoor living room area equipped with comfortable furniture, a large fireplace, sitting walls and pergola to create a ceiling to the room. Each area is distinct and provides the clients with options for different kinds of entertaining. | Gulph Mills, PA
Backyard Paradise | Jun 2005 | This project features two pergolas and one arbor. The arbor at the entrance of the driveway to welcome guests into the backyard; a large pergola over the terrace to provide semi-shade while entertaining family and friends; and a second pergola by the pond as a meditative retreat to enjoy the gardens and pond. | Gulph Mills, PA
Art Lover's Garden | May 2005 | A mix of artistic and unique items highlight this one of a kind garden. Our customer had many pieces of artwork she wanted incorporated into her garden. We used her artwork and existing plants in a redesign of the backyard. We created pathways and sitting areas for friends to gather and watch a life size game of chess. | Villanova, PA
Three Tier Pond | Apr 2005 | On this project, we utilized the slope to create a three tier pond. This water feature can be observed and enjoyed from the large paver pato we designed, the existing deck (upper level) and from inside the home office. A staircase with low risers takes visitors from the driveway down to the patio while enjoying the gardens and pond. | Lafayette Hill, PA |
