H&H Construction Carpentry

Regret to say that this reply is to register my dissatisfaction with H&H Construction. I and my mother hired Maurice Hunsaker to repair and paint the eaves, soffits, and window frames on my mothers house. The quality of work was good but quite slow, even when he had a helper. When the work was done, my mother and I discussed additional work in her kitchen. She wanted kitchen cabinets painted and new doors and hardware. She also wanted a new counter top and back splash. He assured us he could do the work to the same high standard he had provided on the house trim. He began the job in May with promises to finish in around three weeks. He demonstrated good workmanship in removing the old counter-top and back-splash and some custom work; however, he continued to be very slow in his progress. Two months later, he had completed painting on the cabinet enclosures and he finally delivered the doors. The cabinets exhibited sub-standard painting and the doors appeared to have been primed but not painted. This was interesting since he had asked for additional money for paint. He installed only the cabinet doors on the upper cabinets and they were not aligned properly. We were also missing several drawers. In early July, Mr Husker said that he needed more money to finish the work. My mother mistakenly gave him more. After that, Mr. Hunsaker stopped coming to the job site altogether. He did not even answer our many inquiries over the next three or four weeks. Mr Hunsaker even left quite a mess of construction debris in two separate areas in my mothers yard. He was extremely unprofessional. In short, Mr. Hunsaker abandoned the project and left my mother with an unusable kitchen. I would not hire him again on a bet.
