Cox Water Leak

Sep 2011

This ranch style experienced a small water leak on the ceiling. The homeowner said that it occurred when the attic mounted HVAC system was running. An inspection showed that all pans, drains and drain lines were open and operating normally. The tech found a length of flexible duct that had been stripped of insulation. This apparently happened when other workers were in the attic installing computer cables. Moisture in the warmer ambient air (which is normal) had been condensing on the exposed flex. The tech replaced the worn duct run and re-routed it to be out of harm's way. This corrected the leak.
