You can not go wrong with Dan and his crew. He completed our kitchen, dinette and living room renovation and could not be happier. Unlike most places, they always cleaned up after themselves and never let their mess lying around my house which is greatly appreciated. I would absolutely use him again for any future projects. He is always responsive and never felt rushed during our conversations which is really important to me. Do yourself a favor and give Dan at Constructive Design, Inc. a call!

Please let this serve as a letter of recommendation and a thank you to Constructive Design Inc. and Dan Rummo for all the work that was completed in our home between 2012 and 2017. We had four (4) major projects and two (2) lesser projects completed: 1. Installation of eleven (11) new wooden Marvin Windows (including a large bow window). We replaced all of our old vinyl windows that leaked, had mold, and were warped. The original windows had not been installed properly. 2. Renovation of our main bathroom which involved a full gut down to studs and updating of 90% of existing plumbing to all applicable codes. 3. Replace and install attic insulation. 4. Renovation of our old 60’s kitchen which required a full gut. 5 & 6. Renovation of two (2) bedrooms including removal of wallpaper, remediation of mold, skim coating the walls, painting and new carpeting. We have an upcoming small project of replacing front and rear storm doors. We were obviously very happy and pleased with the first project that we have not hesitated to use Dan and Constructive Design Inc. on any project we decide to do in our home. All the work has been superb. Never having done major renovations Dan took all our wants and needs into consideration and helped design and choose everything from layout, materials, fixtures, appliances, etc. He also gave us many ideas and options and showed plenty of patience being that we are older and stuck in the “old world”. He introduced us to a new, more modern and functional lifestyle which we appreciate. Speaking on a personal note Dan is ethical, extremely professional, respectful, honest, warm and educated. It’s evident he’s a perfectionist and expects only the best in his work and nothing less. We highly recommend Dan and Constructive Design Inc. for any home repair or renovation. They are extremely respectful, protective and neat with the rest of your home and all its contents. In the future we plan on redoing our living-dining rooms and of course Dan and Constructive Design Inc. will be doing the project. Sincerely, Ron and Kathleen Fox

Mr. Dan Rummo of Constructive Design is a consummate professional in his field. This is the second and third construction projects he has done for me. Why did I hire him to take on these two projects? Because I could see from the first one (he completely rebuilt my chimney some years ago) that this is a man who, when he does a job, does it right; he is not satisfied until each step of the process is completed to his and the customer's satisfaction, and his standards are high. This recent job involved his building two completely customized, one-of-a-kind, storage sheds for me; a larger one for my bigger tools and garden equipment, along with a separate mini-shed to house my generator. While I knew approximately how I wanted the two sheds to be constructed, I did not know enough about construction to be able to give him the details, and there is where Mr. Rummo's ability to improvise on the job proved invaluable, enabling me to trust in Mr. Rummo's judgment based on his long and extensive experience. Moreover, he came each day promptly at the time he had indicated he would, worked from the beginning to the end of each day wasting no time, left a clean worksite at the end of each day, and kept careful cost records of the time and materials involved. In summary, I would not hesitate to call on him again should I be in need of someone to do construction work on my property.

Farmingdale Kitchen Remodel | Sep 2014 | This was an original kitchen with minimal updating throughout the years. Cabinet space, counter space and design function were major issues along with inadequate electric and deteriorating plumbing. We redesigned the kitchen by removing the dinette table, replacing it with a seating area that included an L-shaped countertop area, base and wall cabinets. The wall cabinets featured a middle open faced cabinet to feature ornamental kitchenware. Since we more than doubled the counter space, the last thing we wanted to do was put a microwave on top of it, so one of these base cabinets also houses the microwave. Our design included beautiful Cherry cabinets with light rail molding underneath the wall cabinets and crown molding above. We used varied height wall cabinets to draw the eye. The doors are drawers all featured "soft-close" hinges and mechanisms, as did the pull-outs. We also more than doubled the cabinet space. It included a trash bin in an end cabinet to maximize floor space, several large cabinets to house pots and pans, many more drawers for utensils and extra wall cabinets for dishes, glasses and pantry items...which many formerly resided in the customer's basement. This kitchen features large rectangular porcelain floor tiles and an intricate travertine and slate backsplash design featuring a beautiful over the range tile design, all conceived and designed by CDI for this customer based on their taste. The countertops are Cambria Quartz. The customer was sold on this product after they learned it was harder and more durable than granite, stainproof and virtually mantenance free. The stainless steel appliances we used are all GE Café which give the restaurant style look at a fraction of the price. We used the French Door fridge with Freezer Draw bottom complete with a filtered water & ice maker that can also make hot water for a cup of tea or hot chocolate. The dishwasher is whisper quiet with hidden controls, many configurations and cycle options. The electric stove has a glass cooktop above and a bake and convectiion oven below. Above the range we have a powerful rangehood that would make any home cook envious! The microwave was modest but very functional as they are not big microwave users. This kitchen remodel was a full gut down to the studs and subfloor. It required all new plumbing as the existing was at the end of its lifespan. All new PVC DWV and Pex Tubing were installed. We also had to remove a long L-section of baseboard heating to accomodate the redesign, so we installed a hydronic toe-kick heater underneath the microwave cabinet to take its place. We also updated the electric...over the years additional lighting and outlets were connected to the existing resulting in flickering lights and circuit breakers being tripped since electric from the hallway, den, dining room and kitchen were all on the same circuits. We abated and seperated everthing from the kitchen and added all new dedicated circuits...as required by code to serve all the various appliances, recessed lighting, under the cabinet countertop lighting and backsplash outlets. Every aspect of this remodel was planned and accounted for, the result...a very happy customer and a job we are very proud of! We hope you enjoy! | $60k | Farmingdale, NY |
