Mills Construction

Nigel mills is not an honorable person to do business with. The power ventilator he put on with the roof he replaced is vibrating like a helicopter over the house. I called him and he said it would be taken care of. That was weeks ago and he has never answered another call to him from me nor has he returned messages from voice mail. He is not a honest business man now iI have to pay some one to fix his mess. BUYER BEWARE.

Nigel Mills is nothing but a lying, deceptive con man. It is very obvious to me that he only hires undocumented immigrants because they will work for less money, and Mills pockets the rest. (That comment is based upon one of his former employees, who finally quit working for him because "He didn't want to pay me enough money, so I quit to form my own company.") Nigel Mills only cares about the money, and nothing or no one else, as I learned from my own experience. While his crew was building my privacy fence, I had to call him several times, to ask him to come to my home regarding the fence. Each and every time, he lied when he claimed, "I'll be there today." Seeing that I was getting nowhere due to his lack of cooperation and no work ethic, I asked my daughter to call him. He then showed up. Evidently, he thought that since my daughter was in her 30's, I was "old and crazy," yet I was the one who put $8000.00 in his held-out hands, upon completion of the fence. Subsequently, after Hurricane Zeta struck in Louisiana, and the wind blew so strongly through the Mississippi Gulf Coast, knocking both of my driveway gates to the ground, I called him again, this time asking him to come back to look at the damage that the wind had caused, and his remark was, "I'll fix you up!" However, he never said WHEN he would "fix me up." He also never showed up. The last time that I called him (and ever will call him), my message went straight to his voicemail, at which time I asked him why he never bothered to show up to give me an estimate. In fact, to date, he has never called me back. So if any of you are thinking of hiring Nigel Mills/Mills Construction Company, I would strongly think twice before doing so. Based upon my lousy experience with him, you will be glad that you did so. Again, as above, the only thing that Nigel Mills cares about is the money--not his customers or anything that they have to say to him--but the money and the money alone.

On 12/30/18 Nigel Mills of Mills Construction in D’Iberville, Mississippi texted me about my HomeAdvisor request to construct a patio and a pergola at my house. We met onsite at the house and then on 01/07/19 I sent a lengthy text to him that explained what we wanted, how we wanted it built, what were his responsibilities, and the price we agreed to pay for the project. The agreed upon price was $6,900. Nigel Mills replied via text on the same day agreeing to the deal. On 01/27/19, he poured the concrete and he wanted payment for the concrete. I advised him that he had not installed the drain extension nor provided the decorative rock. He stated that he would do that when he did the pergola construction. So I paid him the $4,000 for the concrete work even though the drain extension and the rock had not been completed. Then he started building the pergola. He finished most of the wooden frame construction work for the pergola on 02/18/19. On 02/25/19, he completed 80% of the roof and left one side unfinished. On 03/01/19, the roof leaked on all 3 sides and I sent Nigel Mills a text showing the leaks. He replied and stated that his guys would come back out and repair the leaks. On 03/08/19, they came back out and put the rest of the roof on and he sent a guy to repair the leaks. He did not bring the decorative rocks, nor finish the drain extension, nor provided a needed electrical plate that they broke, nor had they removed all of the plastic stickers on the top of the roof, and a few other smaller steps. He asked me to pay him $2,500 of the remaining $2,900 that was owed, and he stated that I could pay the remainder when he finished everything. He has not come back out yet to finish. Also, when it started raining again, it appears that none of the leaks had been fixed and water was still leaking in on all 3 sides. I sent him text videos of all of the leaks. Nigel Mills texted me on 03/12/19 and said that he would come out the next day to finish. He did not show up. On 03/15/19 he texted me again that he was coming out to finish. On 03/31/19 I texted him videos of the work that had not been completed and of the leaks that were getting worse. He replied on that day via text OK. On 04/04/19 I sent him more videos of the leaks and he replied on the same day that he would come out as soon as the rain was over to finish the job and repair the leaks. On 04/08/19 I texted him and asked him when he will come out and finish and he texted back “this week”. I texted him on 04/12/19, 04/26/19,05/04/19 and asked him when he was going to come back out and finish. On 05/04/19 he texted me and stated that he would be out “this week to finish”. On 05/16/19, I texted him explaining that I had left a voice message and wanted to know when he was coming back out. He did not reply. Then I texted him again on 05/17/19 and he did not reply. On 05/19/19 I texted him more pictures of the leaks and asked him if he would come out this week to finish. He texted back on the 05/20/19 and said that he had been busy. On 06/01/19, I texted him more pictures and videos and he texted back on 09/04/19. He wrote that he would be back out after the rainy weather was gone, and he texted that he would personally be onsite to finish. I replied that he needed to finish ASAP and he texted back “agreed”. On 06/08/19, I texted him more videos and he texted back that he was coming back as soon as the rain stopped. The last time that he or his crews came to the house was 03/08/19. And since then, he has texted me 14 times and said that he was coming back out to finish, and on 07/15/19 he texted me and acknowledged that he failed to use flashing and that he would come out and install the flashing. He has not shown up since and now he will not reply to my texts. The job has not been completed, the pergola leaks on all three sides, the drain has not been completed, and several smaller things that were committed to were not completed. This person and this company are not trustworthy and are not honest.
