Hello I'm Paul Masse. I have been a home improvement contractor for over 28 years now. I am originally from CT, my wife and I moved here in 2009 and now reside in SC. I am a fussy contractor, a bit of a perfectionist you might say. I might be a little more expensive than the next guy but that's because I like doing things right the first time and getting the job done in a timely manner. I do what it takes to make a project run as smooth as possible. I do not do hack work or use cheap hardware, parts and materials. I provide any service from handyman to home building, no job to small or to big.

Let me first explain that I work for a property management company, and I'm not local to the property needing repairs that I contacted Paul to assist with. The importance of finding the right contractor to work with cannot be stressed enough in my line of work, and situations like this are what you hope doesn't happen. When I initially reached out to Paul, he was very responsive, friendly, seemed professional, and was right in line with his description of himself on different websites. I decided to move forward with the work he quoted, and immediately sent him a deposit for materials. Unfortunately, once the deposit was received everything changed. On the very first day he was planning on starting the work, he was three hours late, which resulted in nothing being completed on that day. The following day he just never showed up, never called, and didn't respond until the afternoon saying he was sick, and would contact me when he feels better and gets some rest. Over the next two weeks the excuses continued as to why he could not make it to the customers house the days that we discussed. Rather than move on to another contractor, I tried to give him one last opportunity to complete the work, but our customer was not willing. I requested that Paul return the deposit given for materials, and he said that he would on Friday, October 23rd. He of course didn't send it, then promised he would on Monday the 26th, and again on Tuesday the 27th, before he stopped responding all together. At this point it appears I will have to chalk it up as money lost and a learning experience. I am not interested in hurting anyone's business, but felt it necessary to share my experiences, and hopefully help someone before making the same bad choice I did.
