Our experience with RRS was not great. In December, my wife and I decided to remodel our master suite. We are in an older mid-level suburb in cedar park. We saw some of the work that Randy and his crew did online, and really liked the results. After reaching out to them, they were quick to set up a meeting with us, give us lots of info on NARI, why they are involved, and convince us to work with RRS. We stressed that our budget was tight, didn't want to over-improve our house out of the range of the neighborhood, and were concerned that we were a bit under their radar for price range (20-22k for a master suite reno). They assured us they wanted to take the job, and could keep us in our budget range. In order to get their process started, we had to commit to $2500, and they would begin designing, measuring and working with us to pick out the fixtures, vanity, etc.. As people in the design service industry, I could understand wanting a downpayment before committing work. So we cut the check. And then waited. and waited. and waited. After waiting for over a month, they came out to measure our bathroom for the first time. A couple weeks later, after pushing, we got designs. Designs that were pretty much the opposite of everything we had talked with them about. After multiple phone calls, I ended up drawing something as a "how about something along these lines" moment, they said looks good. We were hoping for informed input, before we finalized designs, since change orders cost money. We were concerned about our budget and made some cuts to the scope of the project (down to just the bathroom), but they assured us that things would be in range, but towards the top. We were ok with that, and began getting moving again. or so we thought. At that point they wanted us to sign a contract committing to the work... oh, and in the last week the prices of everything went up 10k over our max budget. In a matter of 3 months, we were only able to meet with them once (before we gave the money), speak with them on the phone twice (trying to convince us that they should get our money), and then have the entire process end in an email. They didn't even bother to respond to our request for a refund of the unused $2500. We have since done the General Contracting ourselves, ordered all materials, and did the work in all three rooms... for our original budget... minus their fee. That said, if you have an endless budget, I'm sure they are great to work with. If you want to spend 35k or less, I would advise to keep looking.

RRS Design built a new front porch on my house. It looks exactly as I hoped it would, on time, on budget, and perfect customer service. I would recommend them and will use them again for future projects.

We had so many problems with Randy Stringer at RRS Construction and RRS Design + Build that it is hard to summarize it without writing a mini-novel. We had a TERRIBLE experience. Our project was left unfinished, with all kinds of errors and damage to our property. We had to hire another contractor just to fix the mistakes Randy made and to get the project completed. Unprofessional, poor communication, didn't follow-up or follow-through, didn't supervise his workers (who complained non-stop about him and other projects they were affiliated with) and he walked out on the job. We paid in full for all work completed and all materials so we feel confident that we upheld our end of the agreement. It was such a disappointment as we really thought this was going to be a good project.

Lakeway Kitchen Remodel | Aug 2014 | Client wanted to remodel her kitchen but loved the flooring she had running throughout the home. This rare travertine with onyx veining came from a mine in Turkey that had been shut down a couple of years prior for religious reasons.
