Travis was very nice at first, as he was eager to help me and took an interest in my case -- a broken refrigerator. He cleaned out the filter and sprayed for mold, but the fridge still didn't work. So he diagnosed the problem as a broken thermostat, ordered the part. I paid him $285 for a "diagnosis and repair fee." He returned to my apartment ten days later to perform the repair. At the time of returning, we unplugged and plugged the unit back in and lo and behold, the fridge started blowing cold air. He didn't have to replace the thermostat and together he and I realized that the problem was probably not the thermostat. Go figure. Though the fridge was now blowing cold air, the fridge started becoming too cold. Way too cold. I placed a mercury thermometer in the unit and it read 20 degrees cooler than the fridge's thermometer was reading. Even on the highest temperature setting, all my produce was freezing. I alerted Travis of this new problem. At first, Travis was very eager to help me, and as far as I remember he offered to do it without further charges, save for charging for purchase of a new thermometer, which I gladly would have paid for. He then disappeared and did not respond to my text messages. The reason I am giving him a 2.0 stars is because he did a fair job of fixing the fridge, but he did not follow through to ensure that the fridge was fully function. Further, his customer service was abysmal. I asked him politely several times, by text message, without badgering him, when he could fix the thermometer in my fridge. In short, he was rude and unprofessional and was no longer helpful. (I mean why should he be? He already got paid. I guess he does not care about his reputation.) Our agreement was that he would fix a refrigerator that wasn't cooling properly and by my estimation that a refrigerator becomes "too cool" falls in to the scope of the agreed upon work. In addition, he gave me the impression that replacement of the thermometer to fix the "too cold" problem would be part of the original repair. If he had asked for further compensation for another visit, I may have considered obliging him or at least negotiating. But he was rude and unprofessional and impelled me never to want to work with him again. In sum, he is at first helpful but later not so. He was not consistent, and in the end his attitude was not professional. I would not recommend him to anyone.
