Custom House Construction (CHC)

The scope of this project touched the entire property. Demolition started and had our crews taking the house to studs, exterior finishes were removed, the mechanical systems were removed, rooms were reconfigured and square footage was added. In order to make the house more accessible the existing narrow staircase was removed and new larger staircase column was installed which allowed us to increase the courtyard parking area.

This townhome started at a rental unit for ski vacations and after a chance meeting resulted in a contemporary hideaway in the mountains. The unit layout was tweaked to add a powder room and bedrooms were reconfigured with a bunkroom added to accommodate the grandchildren. During the transformation a loft with bedroom and bathroom was added over the living room. A very interesting mix of materials were used to add architectural interest and homeowner comfort.

The architectural details and mix of materials were just the beginning. Finishes include engineered Walnut flooring, quarter sawn figured ash custom cabinetry, concrete countertops in the kitchen and island, steel stairs with walnut treads, steel railings, venetian plaster walls and honed marble in bathrooms. A beautifully designed bunkroom was designed over the living room which tied into the lighting trellis.

A comfortable home to raise a family was the basis for this project. The Kitchen was setup for a busy cook with easy access to the dining and living areas. Custom alder cabinetry was used throughout with solid surface tops, GE Profile appliances. Dark hickory hardwood floors throughout. Interior doors and trim is a knotty alder.

This home was built with family living and entertaining in mind. This family wanted an open floor plan that allowed for shared time with family and friends. The project included custom alder cabinetry with granite countertops, GE Monogram appliance package in the kitchen. Hardwood floors were installed in the living areas. The exterior veneer of stucco and stone nicely fit into the hillside.
