Firewood Holder | Jul 2014 | Keep your firewood off the ground and away from the house... If you stack your firewood directly on the dirt, you will have problems with the bottom rotting and bugs moving in. With this you have a neat place to stack the wood and you can have it in a handy place. Best of all, you can decide how big you want it. Also, without sticking it against your house, you don't attract termites. | Thornton, CO
New Toilet and Flooring | Jul 2014 | This is a picture of the new low flow toilet I installed and the flooring. This was on a cement floor and uneven, this presented several challenges for refastening the toilet to the floor. The old bolts were cemented directly into the floor and rusted away. I also had to level the floor before putting down the new wood floor. If a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right. | Thornton, CO
Vanity, Sink, Faucet | Jun 2014 | Vanity, sink, faucet all brand new. In this bathroom I also did a complete facelift replacing the vanity, mirror and toilet and floor and I also repainted the walls. | Thornton, CO
Master Bathroom | Jun 2014 | This is a facelift of our master bathroom. This is the new toilet and cabinet I installed, showing more of the painted walls. In this facelift I also changed the rollers on the shower doors to make them open and close much easier and quieter. I also put in a new heated tile floor, although that is not shown to clearly here. | Thornton, CO
Custom Mirror Frame | Jun 2014 | Custom mirror frame and matching sponge painted walls This shows the mirror I moved from over the sink to this far wall. I turned it sideways and made my own frame and stained it to match the sponge painted walls. This also added the perception of size to an otherwise smallish bathroom. | Thornton, CO
Cat Tree | May 2014 | The cat needed a place to stretch out and climb. I had some extra 4 x 4's and an old blanket so I decided to see if I built a cat tree, would the cats actually play on it? Well they did, and so much that my wife wouldn't let me build a "prettier" one. So this one has found a resting place in our enclosed patio. There are a few store bought attachments too, but they were on sale! | Thornton, CO
Pet Gate | May 2014 | This is the front side of the gate, shut. The latch is on the back side so you have to reach over and down to open it, my wife who is 4"8" has to get on her toes to reach it. So I guess it keeps more than the pets out. Just kidding Honey... | Thornton, CO
Workshop Shelves | May 2014 | You always need more storage in your workshop! I had an odd space in my workshop. It is in the back of my garage and the back of the fireplace sticks out right in the middle with two spots on either side. For a while I just had a trash can there and my table saw. So I built this very sturdy unit out of 2 x 4's and 3/4" plywood using screws and construction adhesive. What I like best is that I could design it the right height for the shelves so I could take the garbage can in and out as well as the table saw. I can even put my chop saw under the table saw and it fits great. There is room on one side for 2x4's and other long boards and in the back I can slip in my sheets of wood. Add some hooks to hold stuff and there is no end to how many things this is good for. OK ok, it is one of my favorites... can you tell? | Thornton, CO
Ceiling Fan | May 2014 | I've installed three ceiling fans upstairs! I put one in each room and my wife loves the moving air and the extra light. | Thornton, CO |
