Express Rooter

Completely unprofessional, condescending and rude. The rep even admits that he does not listen to tenants.... Keep reading. DO NOT HIRE! I have a somewhat new water heated that has shut down a few times recently. My landlord hired Tom from Express Rooter to come out. He arrived late and was there for less than 10 minutes. He said the unit looked fine and didn't see a problem. He told me & my roommate that he reset the tank, re-light the pilot and then he left. Something our usual maintenance guy already took care of once before and the unit still shut off on us....twice. Apparently trouble-shooting and customer service is not Toms forte. When I called Tom back to ask if he knew why the unit kept shutting off, he was extremely unprofessional and verbally abusive. I let him know he was not welcome back to my apartment for any further work, he screamed at me further and then he hung. I followed up with an email to him (copying my landlord) and will copy/paste his response for you all to read: "People like you are the reason I don't listen to tenants. I did more than light the water heater. You wouldn't understand, so I won't explain it. Jose will determine if I go back into the unit. You don't own the building." Hey Tom.... I may not own the place, but a massive rental property in San Diego DOES own it and Tom will not be hired again.
