I hired chadd to build a deck. He seemed a little desperate for the work, by telling me he would honor someone else's estimate, even though he didn't know what I actually wanted to begin with. First red flag was he claimed he did work for a fellow neighbor, but didn't offer info for a reference. Second red flag, he sent a blank estimate. Only listing material and labor cost. Next, he accused me of shorting him $10 for the requested deposit for materials (which was actually $1300 less than listed on his estimate) because he had to pay a check cashing fee. I told him before they even marked for utilities, that I did not want a wooden railing, and after sending him a photo, he said he could do it (never mentioning any difference in costs). I had to remind him a couple of times to look into the railing I wanted because he kept forgetting. I also had to remind him a few times that I needed to know exactly what I would need to order for the railing. His response was the railing would be a hassle and wasn't trimmable, even though it is, so I decided to go a different route that would be much cheaper and easier. He obviously was not happy that he couldn't sway me into the railing he planned on doing, so he completely botched the option I had went with out of spite. He is very immature, and does not know how to communicate whatsoever. He tries to portray he's running a business, when he's actually just some kid trying to snag odd jobs here and there to make ends meet. I highly suggest not doing business with him to save yourself paying a lot of money for mediocre work.

Nice Guy and hard worker but needs much more experience for big projects such as bathroom remodeling, laying tile, painting,etc. He used subcontractors and obviously did not check references. Both subcontractors did lousy work and quit on him. So far we've had to have another contractor come in to fix the shower he put in, $358.00, a painter come in, an electrician, and another tiler to fix his mistakes and finish the tile job. He may be ok for small jobs but I can't recommend him as a contractor because of the low quality of work he provided. I really feel bad for giving him such a negative review because he tried so hard to get things right but couldn't. Maybe in 5 or 10 years, he'll learn and do quality work. I really hope the best for him.
