Recently had 5500 square feet asphalt paving completed on our driveway in Mclean. Very knowledgeable project manager and wow what a fast hard working crew! Extremely pleased with the results.

Fraudulent company. They took our money and never showed to do the work. I contacted the company numerous times and a manager has yet to contact me back regarding the issue of their workers not coming out to do the job after receiving our deposit. My husband and I spoke to Kevin and Nicole and gave them the deposit and Wayne called to confirm that we gave them the deposit, now all have gone into hiding. I would not recommend this company to anyone! If you are looking for a contractor please use a replicable company. Their website is full of lies and the phone number goes to an answering service that claims to have no information on the company! PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU THINK ABOUT HIRING THIS COMPANY!

Editorial Note: After posting the below review on Yelp I was contacted by the “operations manager” at Hotmixx asking me to take down the review in exchange for them doing a “beautiful job” at the cost off material ($2500). I sold my soul and agreed to do it. However, after we got off the phone, I text the operations manager with a request to update the contract to reflect what we agreed. He said, “we agreed to $1000 off, right”? No. We didn’t. We agreed to the cost of material. $1000 off would have been much more than that. So I reminded him via text message what had we agreed to. He then asked me to split the labor cost with him 50/50. Again, I declined. He finally agreed to do it for the discussed price. When they arrived onsite, they still had not sent me an updated contract. I requested that they not start work until I received it (I was out of town). By the end of the day, they had finished the work, and I had still not received an updated contracted. Instead I got an invoice for $200 more than what we had agreed. I contacted the “operations manager” who agreed to update the invoice to reflect the proper amount. When I arrived home, I found a 4 ft pile of dirt blocking my front door. They were supposed to haul this dirt away but for some reason didn’t do it. After a few days of promising that they would “be there tomorrow”, they finally showed up to remove the dirt. While they were here I pointed out that the driveway aggregate was coming up (and we hadn’t even driven on the driveway yet). It appeared that they were in a hurry and didn’t properly roll one entire side of the driveway. I also pointed out that the left side of my driveway was supposed to be straight and it wasn’t – my neighbor pointed out that it looked like they had followed a snake when they paved it. In addition to these two issues, we noticed that the surface was uneven where the seam was, and most alarming, the 3 ft on either side of the driveway that was “new driveway” had been dugout but it appeared that they didn’t use gravel as a base before paving (per the contract). So when you walk on the driveway, it sinks into the dirt. They offered to come out and seal the driveway but I’ve asked them to remove it completely – it doesn’t seem to be structurally sound. Of course, since asking them for this, I have not heard from them. Below is my original review: Can I give negative stars? After giving me a quote that was 50% higher than the competitors, they called me out of the blue on Monday November 7th. They said they could do the driveway within the ballpark of the other competitors and could be there first thing November 9th to do the work. I signed the contract and paid a 50% deposit. On Wednesday morning Bo one called and no one showed up. I finally called and they said that due to the rain they would have to reschedule to Friday (It didn't actually rain Wednesday, it rained the night before). Friday came and still no one called or showed up. So I called again and was told it would be Monday. And on Monday I called and was told Tuesday. And on Tuesday I called and they said Wednesday and on Wednesday I called and they said Thursday. At that point I told the project manager that I wanted my deposit back and he told me to call the office. Apparently he also made a phone call because I received a call from someone at the office asking me to give them one more chance. They would be there Friday, scouts honor. Today is Friday the 18th and no one showed up. When I called, the person from Wednesday said she would find out what was going on. I called her a few hours later and she said she left the company and that my job would not be done today. I have been calling the office for over an hour to request my deposit back but no one will let me speak to the manager. In my opinion, this is not how a company should operate. It's wrong and they don't seem to care.
