I had a very negative experience with Michelangelo enterprises, especially with their very rude owner. It started pretty standard. My wife and I wanted our carpets cleaned, and they offered a good deal. When the employee arrived for the appointment, he asked to fill his water tank from my kitchen faucet. Of course. From the other room I could hear him tugging on the gooseneck very hard. Bang bang bang. I didn’t think anything of it. He finished the carpet cleaning, I paid, it was a good job. That is until the next morning when I walked into my basement and found it flooded. The source of the water was my kitchen faucet. I had to call an emergency plumber. I tried calling Michelangelo’s right away, to let them know what had happened, but couldn’t get a hold of anyone. I left a message, but no one called me back for days. I ended up having to replace the kitchen faucet (very expensive). Okay, accidents happen. Michelanglo’s claim they have $2 million in liability insurance, this is exactly what this is for. When their business accidentally damage their customer’s home. Eventually after calling again and again(they never called me back with my messages about this problem), I got a hold of the owner. He was immediately hostile, never even offering so much as an apology that this had happened. “No, the insurance wouldn’t cover that. We have to go to arbitration. They won’t side with you. No, I won’t offer you any free service to make-good on the damages. What proof do you have that it was my employee.” What proof do I have? I have a busted faucet the day after I heard your employee tugging on it. Sorry I wasn’t video recording him as he broke my sink? I told him I’d have to call him back. A day or so passed, and that’s when he just started screening my calls completely. He never answered, or responded to the multiple messages I left them. After about a month of him not calling me back, I decided to give up and just let others know my experience. This is where it gets really wild! He almost immediately replies to my negative Yelp review (I wish he had called me back as fast as he responded to Yelp reviews). His response, in the best light, can be described as tone-deaf as to why I was displeased with his business, and at worst, downright accusatory that I was somehow trying to cheat him out of money. This is not a review about a broken faucet. It’s about an owner of a company who accepted no accountability when a problem occurred, did nothing to make the situation right, then refused to call a client back who had an issue. If you choose to do business with Michelangelo Enterprises, I hope you never have to speak directly to the owner, because I can honestly say this has been the most jaw dropping service-experiences I’ve ever had in my life.
