Blue windows on Keuka Lake

Dec 2012

The new house plan pays homage to the former cottage on the site. The house is rotated slightly to the southwest to enhance the view down the lake. The first floor was raised to allow a walk-out level that contains guest bedrooms, a family room and a cabana bath. A bridge allows access across a stream to a neighboring cottage belonging to a relative.

First floor bedroom addition

May 2007

Adding a room on the back of a 1928 house in Fairport, NY. The room is to function as an office and later as a first floor bedroom. The addition also added a new covered entry, a full bathroom and some space in the renovated kitchen. The exterior is western red cedar to match the existing siding.

The clubhouse is on the ground floor with the cart storage tucked into a hillside. The kitchen, timber framed bar and restaurant are on the upper floor accessed off grade at the north side. A wrap around timber framed porch offers views of the ninth and eighteenth greens.

Holimont ski chalet

Aug 2006

The house is built in a ski community in southwestern New York. The great room is framed with reclaimed timbers. It features a ski storage and work room on the ground floor. The front facade is inspired by a chalet located on Cascadilla Gorge in Ithaca, NY near Cornell University where I went to architecture school.

Canandaigua Lake boat house

Jul 2006

We were asked to design a traditional lake front structure to store boats and serve as a guest house. Design inspiration was found in the details of Hacker Craft mahogany boats and boat houses found on Lake George and other upstate New York lakes, The structure is built into a hillside to allow at grade entry for each level. A raised side entry allows a top view of the boat similar to the view one would have from a dock. The one bedroom residence on the upper level is 883 net square feet.
