Gary's Construction is a locally owned, small family business. As a Military Retired Construction Engineer with over 22 years of various construction experiences, I hold words such as Integrity, Loyalty and Respect as my bond in all my work. Working hard for a fair price is my motto. Remolding, fencing, decking, tree removal, landscaping, finished wood working, hard wood and laminate flooring, is all welcome. I look forward in working for you. Thank you

We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms renovated into one bedroom two baths. While it "looks" nice, there has been problem after problem. First, we have never received a billed or statement listing exactly what we paid $56k for. All we got was a handwritten estimate of charges and that was mid through the reno. The plumbers put two holes in our ceiling downstairs. I paid for the paint and repairs on the one, the other I discovered later in the den But, because Gary won't answer my text messages asking for my paintings back that he promised to frame for me, I didn't bother contacting him. The light fixtures in the bathrooms aren't centered with the sinks. I was promised linen closets in both bathrooms but now there is an awkward dead space in each. The shower in the guest bathroom that I didn't want moved, was reversed and now the plumbing is on an outside wall and froze last February when we had the freeze, there was no installation put in the wall. The tile is cracking under our feet which we had to pay someone to come fix. And, no, it's not because the tile is cheap Gary, it's because the sub-contractors used too little thin set. The grout is breaking up because they did not seal it. The expensive tile trim we did choose in the shower is cut off center. There is other trim that I did not ask for throws the who design off. It caused the idiot tile folks to have to hang the expensive trim low and can hardly be seen unless you're in the shower. The trim doesn't even match the rest of the tile. The cut tiles are chewed on the edges because they didn't use a proper blade...AND, they cut tile in the house which left dust all over everything even downstairs! Lowe's had to replace the counter tops twice and I finally drew the line and went elsewhere for counter tops #3. Olive Glass and Marble did an excellent job and was less expensive than Lowe's. I don't think we ever got a refund from Lowe's or a refund for the cabinets and mirrors we couldn't use. Which brings me to the other problem of Gary not letting us shop anywhere but Lowe's for everything just for a 10% discount. I was stuck with very little choices. Out of the four doors that were installed, not one hangs level or closes right. The closet door that we talked over and over about opens inward, which is not what I wanted. I've never seen a closet door that opens into the closet. The light switches for the shower and fan are on the opposite side of the rooms. When I asked why, he snapped at me and said it was for my convenience. How is that convenient? Every morning I have to walk around the bathroom turning lights off. The paint job is sloppy with dried runs everywhere. Half of the ceiling paint and primer I bought was not used. All of the light fixtures in the hall, stairs and foyer that I never asked to be replaced was replaced with lighting that looks like it belongs in a doctor's office. They are way too bright and have no personality. I wasn't able to choose anything, not even the expensive blinds that I also did not ask for and can't hang drapes because they stick out way too far. And all of this took 4 months. Now I can see why because Gary was busy doing other jobs thanks to all of the kinds reviews he's getting from others. He should have been micro managing his subs. In all fairness, Gary said the job was his biggest undertaking, but he shouldn't have accepted if he couldn't handle it. One other piece of advice for Gary is to use your local small business suppliers. Their quality is way better and service is impeccable because their name is on the product. Lowe's doesn't care about the individual customer the way local, small businesses do. I'd still like a bill and the names of the subcontractors so I can show them some love also.

Gary and his crew did an outstanding job on the house project I hired him to do. He changed out the fascia, softit and drip edge around the whole house. He is very professional, explains and shows you what needs to be done along the way. His workmanship is top notch and does the job right from start to finish. Very respectable and a great personality all around. Thanks much for the job you did for me, Mr. Gary.

Closet | Sep 2016 | I just finished this great project for Steve and Ann. It is a 5x11 closet. The fun part about this project was this house was built in 1930 and I has to match the existing design. The doors are pocket doors that match the one down in the dinning room. All trim was custom along with matching stain. Thank you Steve and Ann for trusting in me. | $5k | Fayetteville, NC | |
