  | Imani Village | Apr 2013 | Fuller Electric teamed up with Marpac Construction and DKA Architects to construct a 3-story, 16-unit apartment complex for Catholic Housing Services/First Place School. Tucked quietly between Spruce and Fir Street in Squire Park, the Imani Village was purpose built to be a resource for disadvantaged families and women with children living in our community. During the Summer, as night sets on the gorgeous landscaped courtyard, subtle illumination brightens up the outside amphitheater. State-of-the-art security and CCTV systems seamlessly blend in to the building facade providing residents with peace of mind as their kids cut loose on multiple playgrounds. The project also includes an outdoor classroom area next to the school. Like timeless art, precision-engineered electrical work should compliment its surroundings. The team was able to incorporate a bevy of contemporary green features from native bioswales, removing pollution from surface runoff water to landscape trellises, pervious recycled rubber playgrounds and Energy Star lighting. None of these features are typically found on low-income housing complexes. Fuller Electric further pushed the envelope by designing and building a rooftop photovoltaic solar system, almost invisible to the casual passerby. To crown all these efforts, the project was certified for both Built Green 4-star and the Evergreen Sustainable Development Standard by using environmentally friendly materials, where the majority was locally sourced from previously recycled products. | $325k | Seattle, WA |
