DO NOT USE HER! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FINDING A DIFFERENT COMPANY! WORST CONTRACTOR EVER! This company/owner, Ranae Hurd, is hands down the WORST contractor that I have ever had to work with. It has resulted in a financial dispute, where she is trying to charge me $13,500 for a very incomplete job. This cost, in addition to the money I have already paid her, is way more than the total cost of the job if it were to be completed in its entirety. I purchased materials that she outright took with her when leaving the job unfinished. Right now, I have two non-functional bathrooms because of this contractor AND have to pay even more to fix her mistakes. I highly recommend NOT wasting your time, money, or energy investing in this company. Ranae is the most unprofessional contractor that I have ever encountered. There was issues in time management, quality of work, and deliverables, and ultimately, she found ways to continue to charge things on an invoice without every completing the work. Do not work with her, and if you do, document everything! I should have listened to her other negative reviews on Thumbtack. It is in your best interest to STAY FAR FAR AWAY! The project was supposed to start in January, and was delayed a week right off the bat because of the contractor. She was supposed to remodel a bathroom/laundry room and a master bathroom. After that, the project was slow to get started. She had numerous different workers show up at my house on different days (average 1 worker per day; rarely the same person from the day before); and they were clearly unskilled. Myself and my roommates heard her shouting at them numerous times about their mess-ups and screamed at them that time is money lost on the job. One of her workers even quit on the job (probably due to her screaming at him all the time). If you expressed concern about quality, she was quick to come back, yell at you, and say it is what it is. The tile work had poor grout lines, the floor was not level, some of the tiles aren’t sticking, she laid down chipped tiles, the painting has poor cut lines, and drip marks everywhere. She made a mess inside the construction area, and outside of it. Numerous times, I had to clean up dust that was not within the job site. The trim work took so long that I expressed concern about the quality but also how it was taking more time to install than the total quote for the time of the entire job (2 bathrooms) that she had to hire a more skilled worker to complete the trim. This clearly shows that she recognizes that her staff was unfit to do professional work. She even told me that one of her workers was brand new and in training. You do not pay a professional to do a do it yourself job. One of her workers even expressed his concerns to me about how I was being ripped off and that the quality of the job was clearly very bad. This worker was not the one who performed the work, and was hired to fix it after I expressed concerns. Ranae knew she had the upper hand in the situation, in which I had two non-functional bathrooms. She demanded that you pay in advance for certain line items, but would then make it on her time to complete them, and in this case, not complete them. She got angry when I questioned invoices, because there were times when I had legitimate concerns about her trying to double charge me on certain line items. When I ultimately expressed concerns about the quality of the work, she pulled her worker from the job site and stated he would not be able to come back for at least three weeks. This is an unreasonable request and forced me to terminate the contract because I needed the bathrooms to be functional before then. She ultimately cancelled the contract, but forced me to do it. Now she is trying to charge 3k+ in a contract termination fee that she forced me to cancel, and then 10k+ in labor, when I have two non-functional bathrooms, one that is completely demolished and no work has been completed on. The work completed is far from being worth 10k. DO NOT USE HER! SHE WILL SCAM YOU OUT OF MONEY, PERFORM A BAD JOB.
