I am a custom Licensed Building contractor, remodeler, fine furniture and kitchen cabinet maker in Gainesville, Florida. We can custom make contemporary, mid century modern influenced to traditional shaker style wood work. I design, build, deliver and install one of a kind excellent quality woodwork. After years of specializing in historic home remodeling, I found myself becoming interested in more sensitive work. In my pursuits, I was able to apprentice with an art deco furniture designer and builder, Jeff Newell, in Denver, CO. Then, I was accepted into the Fine Woodworking program at the College of the Redwoods, the school James Krenov founded. I spent two very intense years, including multiple workshops, shows, and competitions, working for Brian Newell and having a remarkable time. Now, I am back in Florida, working with the sensitive eyes and hands of a furniture maker.

The Lounge Chair | Aug 2013 | Straight grain quarter sawn veneer quality Black Walnut, double mortise and tennon joinery, solid wood construction, water based clear finish, clean lines and a comfortable sit makes for a very nice chair. This chair is part of my line of hand crafted and affordable living room furniture. (Priced without the cushions) | $750 | Gainesville, FL
Castillo Table | Jan 2013 | Custom Black Walnut Dining table commission. The client gave me the go ahead to do what I want, a wonderful decision. Veneer for the table top was taken from a curly figure walnut log I recently bought. The log has a natural curve that I did not want to loose due to the typical edge straightening and gluing. So the outcome is a table top with not only curved edges but each joint in between also follows the natural curve. I'm trying to bring my work to life, straight lines have no place. The legs and stretchers are influenced from my previous work that has it's roots in my fascination for Brian Newell's work and his true genius. | $3k | Gainesville, FL
Retro Vintage Kitchen Cabinets | Jan 2013 | Painted flat panel custom kitchen cabinets to mimic the style of old metal cabinets that I still find in houses. Aluminum edging wraps around the vintage edition boomerang formica. We also placed aluminum edging on the top of the back splash and custom cut the aluminum for the valance to play off the boomerang theme, also found on the pulls. The sink is under mount, a wonderful touch not typically found with laminate counters. The backsplash is a glass subway tile, turned 45 degrees, laid in a box weave pattern, subtly picking up on the boomerang theme. The floor is Marmoleum, the precursor to linoleum. Marmoleum is made of linseed oil and jute fibers. The restored range is vintage. | $15k | Gainesville, FL
Incunabula | Jun 2013 | Incunabula marks a new beginning of seeing forms through a lens that began developing as I completed the years spent at the College of the Redwoods. This piece was inspired by the forms and technical knowledge that I have experienced thanks to my mentor Brian Newell. Incunabula - 1. The initial stages or earliest traces of anything. 2. A work of art or of industry of an early period. Materials: East Indian Rosewood, Pear, Madrone Burl, Port Orford Cedar | Gainesville, FL
Krenovian Stand-Under Cabinet | Aug 2012 | I made this piece in homage of James Krenov, who's writings and work gave me the direction and the encouragement to pursue woodworking as an art. The piece plays off many of my favorite works of Krenov while not losing any of my own voice. I hope he would approve. | Gainesville, FL |
