Gaithersburg, MD exterior repaint | Dec 2015 | This single-family home (now housing separate upstairs/downstairs apartments) in Gaithersburg is well over 100 years old, but features a large addition + deck in the rear, and many updates/improvements on the interior (that we also painted), which together w/the large yard, trees, and location make it a very desirable property! It also happens presently to house our home offices at Passport Painting! Services provided on this home included power-washing of the aluminum siding, trim, deck & porch; extensive scraping of old paint on the trim; sanding, caulking, and priming, before two coats of finish paint on trim & siding, as well as staining the deck & porch... Listed project price includes materials & supplies (billed separately at cost, as is our typical M.O.)... | $5k | Gaithersburg, MD
Springfield, VA complete interior repaint | Apr 2015 | This residential interior required a timely start & some unexpected additional labor--new hardwood floors were installed throughout before the new homeowners' move-in, causing hundreds of "nail-pops" on the first-floor ceilings! We repaired, sanded, and primed them all before painting all the ceilings (together with all trim) at a very reasonable additional cost--which in this case included materials... Walls required a lot of TLC & repair, as did most of the trim, including two large bay windows. Master bed & bathrooms required wallpaper border removal, skim-coating, and extensive drywall repair, while the home office's built-in bookcases were straightforward. Our clients chose a lively, contemporary palette, featuring greys in the living/dining areas, with a subtle, light green in the kitchen. The guest bedroom & a new nursery used much-needed lighter colors in what were otherwise relatively small, otherwise dark second-floor rooms. Due to the additional labor, we finished this project only after our clients occupied the home, while striving to minimize any inconvenience to them! | $5k | Springfield, VA
Manassas, VA complete interior repaint | Mar 2015 | This lovely 4-bedroom home was a pleasure to redecorate. Built within the last decade, it was still in great condition; the new homeowners simply wanted to personalize the space with their own, warmer colors, with lots of earth tones: beige, green, greys, and dramatic red accent walls flanking the fireplace in their bright family room, for good measure! Check out the lovely foyer & kitchen! | $5k | Manassas, VA
Rockville, MD complete interior repaint | Nov 2014 | This charming split-level, 3-bedroom in Rockville was yet another project begun only shortly before our clients occupied the home. We worked diligently to complete as much of the extensive repair work (spackling, sanding, and priming ceilings, skylights, walls & trim) as possible beforehand. The attic office & sunroom required extensive drywall repairs around skylights; much of the trim was previously painted (sometimes very poorly) before we were hired; and several other (general & sub)contractors came & went during our time here, but we worked with (and when necessary, "around") them all, waiting patiently for full bath renovations, roofing repairs, and other projects to be completed before we could finish. In the end, the homeowner (with the patience of a saint) chose an excellent (if very diverse) color palette, and seemed very pleased, indeed! | $4k | Rockville, MD
Gaithersburg, MD church/commercial building exterior repaint | Sep 2014 | Our preparation work on this multi-purpose commercial property (which includes a church, dentist office, barbershop, insurance & tax preparation businesses) included power-washing of entire exterior; scraping, grinding, & sanding of all wooden & metal handrails; priming of ceilings, stairwells, and railings, and finish coating of all surfaces (including 2-3 coats on black doors & railings). Materials and supplies were billed to client separately (at cost). | $6k | Gaithersburg, MD
Ashburn, VA townhome repaint (interior & exterior) | Jul 2014 | This three-story townhome in Ashburn was previously-owned by a well-known Washington Redskins athlete! Preparing this large, 4BR space for resale while unoccupied made the project easier than many we've undertaken, although the bland colors left something to be desired. Would have loved an opportunity to redecorate it for the new owners! The project involved extensive removal of wallpaper borders, drywall repair & patching, together with priming of windows & fireplace/hearth, which had been painted in bold designer colors, before repainting all ceilings, walls, & trim throughout. As you can see, the kitchen cabinets should have been resurfaced, as well... Exterior work included minor carpentry repair to doors & windows, as well as painting of all trim--(from a 40-foot ladder)! | $6k | Ashburn, VA |
