Tom Coalson began his 40-plus year construction career in 1972. A four-year apprenticeship qualified him as a Master Carpenter, and upon receiving this milestone, he never looked back. He has been involved with the construction of new single-family homes, townhouses, condominiums, apartment buildings, commercial retail projects, hotels (new construction and re-model), interstate highway bridges and two Las Vegas casinos. He has had "hands on" experience with rough framing and finish carpentry, concrete forming, pouring and finishing, plumbing, electrical, roofing, drywall and painting. In his shop in Georgetown, CO, he continues to design and build custom furniture and cabinetry. Through the years, Tom has been sought out to act as foreman, superintendent, project manager, general manager and Vice President for various projects in California, Nevada, Hawaii, Colorado and Montana. Since 1976, he started and continues to operate his own business, the American Cherokee Company, an umbrella LLC for a number of other business entities, including Colorado Rockies Home Inspection Services. Tom Coalson's introduction to Home Inspection Services came in the late 1970s when he was contacted by Transamerica Financial to provide inspections for hundreds of repossessed homes in the Orange County, CA regional market After providing the inspection report (complete with narrative description and photographs), he was often contracted to make some or all of the repairs necessary to bring the house up to code and to restore the cosmetic appearance to a "like new" condition. Tom's company became the only inspection/repair company used by Transamerica during that period. He has held statewide general contractors licenses in California, Nevada and Hawaii, and county-wide licenses in Colorado and Montana.
