The Housewright LLC is a specialty building company focusing on historic structures and reconstructions. Our approach emphasizes traditional building techniques, coupled with an awareness of modern technologies and the wisdom to apply them where appropriate. The range of our work extends from museum quality restorations which strictly follow Department of Interior preservation guidelines, to residential restorations that require a more adaptive approach. All of our work over the past 28 years has been executed in the Hudson Valley. We pride ourselves in our knowledge and familiarity with this vernacular style of architecture. Constantly learning, we have become specialists in historic estate properties and classical design. We have been fortunate to work on several historic landmark properties, some designed or influenced by A.J. Davis, Stanford White, Delano and Aldrich, and Robert Mills, as well as notable modern day practitioners of the classical styles. We have also worked on some wonderful buildings whose designers are unknown. Over the years we have developed an extensive network of craftsmen, each a specialist in their particular trade. We utilize the best available people to execute each portion of a project. If we do not have the capability in-house we will draw from this extensive network of proven specialists.
