Marshall Carpentry

Beware of Barry (Rusty) Marshall. I tried to save a few bucks using him and it was a huge mistake. Rusty talks a good game, but does not deliver. The work on my mother's house in Gibsonville started off quickly, but then everyone disappeared after a week or so. I had complain many times to get the work started again. Rusty uses help that is not professional (like his son as a painter who is also unreliable). Frankly many of the subs didn't seem to know what they were doing. He does not pay his sub-contractors. They asked me for money and complained about Rusty. After many irate phone calls and conversations with Rusty, I had to kick him off the job with the work unfinished. The work was almost completely paid for, but I had to employ others to finish it. Examples of problems Rusty left: new doors that blow open, damaged drywall around the new doors, cut electrical wires that weren't fixed, rotten wood that was not replaced, mismatched siding, missing caulk all over the exterior, inoperable outdoor faucet, missing trim around exterior doors, doors that would not open after Rusty "fixed" them. I just hope I don't have serious problems in the future. For example, I found where Rusty's guys had removed rotten wood from the house and reused it elsewhere. Who knows what issues he covered up or caused that I haven't discovered yet.

Thank you Marshall Carpentry . They are very professional and responded quickly and when the came I was a little under the weather but the were patient with me and gave my family the best deal with impeccable service.

Beware- Don't use this company ! Uses bait and switch tactics and doesn't care about anyone but himself. Our project was quoted at $2800 and we gave him $1400 down ( big mistake- don't give him any money). He came over day one and tore up our deck and said that the job would now cost 25,000. We said we didn't want to proceed and he refused to give any of our deposit back. He left our deck unusable and we are suing him now. We did find an honest company who quoted us correctly and did the job right . Not sure how he is business - please check his licensing ,insurance and references as I doubt he has any. We are also contacting the BBB. Don't fall victim like we did.
