Marv and Deck Envy was a great find through Porch. He was extremely quality focused, had great communication, and was very professional during both bidding and completing the job. He kept a really clean worksite, did great work, did it quickly, and did it all for a really great price. He'd be the first person we'd call when we have another deck-related project.

Marv helped us upgrade our deck from a splintery, dry-rotted, 2x4 monster to a beautiful meranti+cedar masterpiece. He's a great communicator, provides detailed invoices, and produces fantastic work.
Ronny D.
I've know Marv since we were kids, we were Scouts together and I think think that is were he first learned to work wood. He has been passionate about woodworking ever since. He puts his heart into everything he does and it always has to be perfect and it is!

Fircrest ADU | Feb 2021 | A modestly sized retreat, that we designed and built for a wonderful couple who desired a spot to get away and immerse themselves in the sounds of the natural waterfall below. The casement windows open out and serve to “funnel” the sound into the structure, effectively amplifying the sound. Radius composite deck and a series of composite stairways and landings that circuitously wind their way down to a small observation deck just above the waterfall and stream below. Black Oxide coated stainless steel railings serve as the finishing touch of understated elegance. | $118k | University Place, WA

Big Green Egg BBQ Table | May 2015 | Design and build a custom mobile table with storage, to support a clients 450lb XL Big Green Egg Ceramic Barbecue and accessories. Constructed on polyurethane locking caster wheels, with a Sitka Spruce frame and structure, the exterior is clear cedar and finished with a proprietary penetrating oil blend finish. The top was hand laid up from cedar "shorts" and then breadboarded. All fasteners are stainless steel, countersunk and concealed with grain matched cedar plugs. Since completing this one we have designed and built several derivations for other BGE owners in many different shapes and configurations. We can also build these for all of the other brands of ceramic style barbecues on the market. Projects like this are pure fun...start to finish...only thing better than building something like this, are building children's playhouses! Those are the best. | $5k | Seabeck, WA
Pitcher Front Porch, Deck & Cover | Apr 2015 | Design, build and seal coat, custom western red cedar front porch deck, stairs and railing. Due to very tight setback requirements, the design of the deck had to closely parallel the curved property boundary. The result was a beautiful and architecturally interesting project that the property owner was thrilled with. | $13k | Silverdale, WA
Black Point Vacation Home | Jul 2014 | Design and build a modestly sized, highly detailed and meticulously crafted waterfront vacation home in a semi-remote location. Utilizing natural design cues from the local topography. The canoe is hand built and suspended above the dining room table. The interior woodwork is VG Doug-Fir, clear lacquer finish and natural river stone for the hearth and fireplace. All of the glu-lam beams in the open roof structure are architectural grade, clear lacquer finished and joined by concealed hangers and fasteners. The stair newel posts are solid 6x6 VG Doug-Fir with full 2" thick VG DF stair treads. The total square footage of the project was 1200 ft. of living space, with an oversize garage and workshop below. | $295k | Brinnon, WA |
