First Response Trees & Fences

I received an email asking a quote on the 2 trees in the back yard. My partner with 15 yrs exp. went to their house & came back with the quote. I emailed the quote & it was accepted. When the crew got there they were told they were to trim the 2 trees in back and 1 tree on the side next to the driveway. That tree was not in the quote I emailed to them. It was explained to them that the 3rd tree would be in addition to the quote for the 2 in back. It was agreed to and the men did all the work that was agreed to. They brought a 16 ft. A frame step ladder & a 24 ft. extension ladder. They also had 3 chain saws & a 12 ft. gas powered pole saw. So they could easily reach the tops of all of the trees. Which they did. Only after they drank all of the water they had brought with them did they ask for a glass of water each. They had to move several children's toys & chairs that were left out in the yard under the trees that were being trimmed. They picked up all the debris which they removed from the trees & loaded them in the truck to be hauled to the dump. After receiving a call that the trees were not trimmed completely & wanted a refund, I explained that their satisfaction was guaranteed & that I would personally come back out there to remedy the problem. I could not reach them for about 2 weeks as they had decided to go on vacation at that time. When I did get out there I could not see any low hanging limbs or any dead limbs in the tops of the trees. As far as I could tell my crew had done an excellent job or the customer had gotten someone else to come out & correct whatever they were dissatisfied with. I was sent an ugly email from the wife Emily Becker that they were back from vacation & wanted to know if I was going to come back out & remove 2 small limbs in the top of 1 tree in the back yard & 1 large limb on the tree by the driveway. So, I realized that someone else did not come behind us & complete the job and that she was just being overly picky about what she considered branches out of place. They were not dead! They were not low hanging over the driveway, sidewalk or street! They were at least 14 ft. from the ground! After she had left several nasty messages on my voice mail, I sent an email to her husband explaining (my position) that when we quote a certain price to do a certain amount of work I cannot afford to pay anyone on my crew to perform additional work without my permission. It is my professional opinion that the crew trimmed all 3 trees properly for the price that was quoted. To remove the 3 limbs (that do not need to be removed) would cost me more money in travelling expenses & dump fees than I could reasonably charge. I would not recommend anyone doing any work for the Beckers unless they enjoy being told that their work is inadequate, they charge too much for their services, everything they did was wrong & they should give back all the money they received for their services for doing such a lousy job!
