Anne B. Massey, a Greenville resident for 35 years, started A. B. MASSEY CONSTRUCTION INC. in 1995. In the late 80's and early 90's, Anne worked with others in the construction industry. Tasks included framing, remodeling, vinyl siding, trimming houses, building decks, and building porches. She has had hands on experience in all aspects of residential construction. In late 1994 she got her Residential Contractors License and has been building custom and speculative homes in Greenville and its surrounding areas. She is very involved in the building of her homes. Most all the work is subcontracted out, but Anne is on the jobsite everyday overseeing and making sure everything is done to her specifications. Most of her subcontractors have been associated with her for many years. She has been in the local Home Builder's Association since 1995 and in 2004 was voted Builder of the Year. Anne has been on several councils and has been an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau for nine years. She has been on the advisory board (Construction Dept.) at Pitt Community college for five years.She got her Green Certified Professional NAHB) designation in 2009. Anne has been building E-300 homes from the very beginning. In 1995, her 1st home was certified and every home since has also been certified. E-300 is an established program from Greenville Utilities that has been in the Greenville area over 30 years and promotes energy efficiency. Anne has been building "Green" homes since the beginning by always trimming waste, cardboard recycling, and using OSB board and recycled materials where possible. Anne achieves her "green" homes by properly installing house wrap, upgrading HVAC systems, grade 1 insulation installed, radient barrior roof sheathing, styrofoam board on all knee wall to enclose the thermal barrior,and using energy star products. In 2010 AB Massey Construction, Inc built the first home in Greenville, NC to be certified to the National Green Standard associated with National Association Of Home Builders. (NAHB). To date AB Massey has built 3 Energy Star homes.
