I had this company paint the interior of my home 4 months ago. They were very professional and always on time and they did an awesome job. I would highly recommend them.

We hired Franklin of Primary Colors to paint our less than 700 square foot condo. The initial estimate provided by Franklin was to paint the walls, ceilings, doors and trim of the entire condo. The estimate also included the cost of paint. However, Franklin informed us that the paint he would provide would be flat paint and we wanted egg shell, so we purchased the paint ourselves. We purchased enough paint for two coats for the walls, ceilings, doors and trim. We made certain to supply enough paint to allow the egg shell to cover the flat on the walls and trim and to allow the ceiling paint to cover the satin on the ceilings. We also wanted to make certain that there was enough paint since we were changing the colors of the rooms from white to darker colors. According to Franklin, the painting of the condo would take 2 days. Franklin began painting on Monday, June 6, 2016. We let him into the condo and left for 8 hours. When we returned, we discovered that only 1 room had been painted, the other 3 rooms and hallway of the condo had not been painted. We also noted that he had left his equipment. A review of the work in the 1 painted room resulted in the following problems: 1) the white flat paint was coming through in numerous spots in the room-particularly problematic in a soft yellow room; 2) the curtain rod holder had been replaced upside down; 3) the trim and doors were not painted; and 4) the areas where picture hooks had been in place had not been painted. We called Franklin and he stated that the problem with the paint job was due to the fact that he was use to only painting with flat paint. We told him we needed the room to be painted correctly and he stated that he would do his best. We also told him that we expected the condo to be finished in 2 days as he stated since only 1 room was done in 8 hours. Franklin assured us that the painting would be completed as scheduled. The next day, Tuesday, June 7, Franklin arrived. He also had 2 helpers. Once again, we left our condo for 8 hours. When we returned, the condo had been painted and Franklin had taken his equipment. As we walked around the condo we noticed that: 1) all of the trim had not been painted; 2) white flat paint was bleeding through the egg shell paint in all of the rooms; 3) the bottom of one of the doors had not been painted; 4) none of the areas where paint hooks were located had been painted; 5) that drips from the previous painters had not been sanded and could be seen; and 6) the ceilings were spotted and uneven. On Thursday June 9, 2016 we called Franklin and informed him of the numerous problems with the paint job for which we had paid him over $1,000.00. Franklin responded first by stating that the problems with the paint job were due to the previous painters of the condo. We then asked him if he had put two coats of paint on the walls, trim, doors and ceilings because of the large amount of paint remaining. He stated that 2 coats had been applied and again blamed the previous paint job. He further stated the he could return and we could see if “we could work something out.” There was no guarantee of his work, nor was there any offer to touch up areas where the flat was bleeding through the egg shell. In conclusion, we have a paint job where we are forced to touch up our own walls and complete the paint job of the trim. I would never hire this company again and would advise anyone who wants this company to paint their walls to be certain that they only use flat paint. Apparently, Franklin and his crew do not know how to paint with anything other than flat paint.
