Whole Home Energy Efficiency Upgrade

Jan 2013

This project began with an energy audit. During the audit portion of the project, our team collected data on how much energy is being used in the home, where and how energy losses are occurring and where upgrades should be made to mitigate energy loss and increase overall efficiency (as well as comfort) in the home. We proposed and installed the following measures during this project: blown-in fiberglass insulation in the attic, super insulated vinyl siding to include exterior air sealing, energy star windows and doors, high efficiency natural gas furnace and air conditioning, new ducts and modifications to existing ducts, high efficiency on demand hot water heater, and a new basement floor. Upon completion of the project, we submitted several rebates on behalf of the customer bringing cash back to them.

Insulation Job

May 2013

proper insulation of attic and walls actually meant; a warmer house in the winter, cooler house in the summer and it helps reduce outside noise. It also means fewer calls to the oil company and the furnace isn't running constantly. On top of the insulation in the walls, Master Carpenters installed 1 inch thick foam board under new siding. Fred is wonderful to work with and his crew is friendly, courteous and very concerned about keeping the homeowner happy.

The Works

Jan 2014

Fred and his crew just finished a two-day install of blown in insulation into my walls and attic and also spray foam in my basement rim joists. The difference is night and day, it is 8 degrees out this morning and my old cape cod house is so warm and cozy. Previously when it was this cold out, I'd have to keep the heat cranked and I could feel drafts throughout the house and our upstairs bedrooms were always about 10 degrees colder. But today the heat is on a minimal setting and the temperature is consistent throughout the house and no drafts! The work was done professionally and timely.
