Langenwalter began as a group of manufacturing chemists dedicated to developing superior chemicals and cleaners for the janitorial and carpet cleaning industry. Langenwalter soon realized that their chemicals and cleaners were far superior to those being used in the industry. What was missing though, was the necessary training and application of those materials. Langenwalter then introduced a franchise system in 1981 to create an innovative method and system unparalleled in the industry.
