William G. Flett (Bill), President and founder, has been in the roofing industry since 1961. He is a graduate of Allstate Construction College. Bill has worked closely with the Florida Building Code Commission through Broward County since 1989 when he was appointed to the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals to sit on the roofing committee. In 1996 he was appointed to sit as a voting member on the full board by the Broward County League of Cities and served as their Chairman in 2001 and remains as a voting member. Jim Flett, Vice President, has been a part of the family business since 1984. As a graduate of Allstate Construction College, he holds state licenses as a Roofing Contractor, Home Inspector, Roof Inspector and Certified Lead Renovator. Jim has held the position of General Manager since 1987 -- a position he now shares with his brother, Tracy Flett. Tracy Flett, Vice President, grew up around the family roofing business and has been a part of the family business since 2006. He is a state licensed Roofing Contractor and Home Inspector. Tracy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree from the University of Florida. John Gavino, Sales Manager, has been a part of the Universal team since 1993. As a valuable team member, John plays an integral part of running daily operations. John holds an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Broward College and an Associate of Science degree in Computer Electronics from Tampa Technical Institute. Carol English, the friendly voice behind the phone, has been the office manager and secretary since 2005. Carol is the go-to lady for much of Universal Roofing's daily operations. The Universal Roofing management team is involved or has been involved in several roofing organizations such as the National Roofing Contractors Association, Roofing Contractors Association of South Florida, the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association.
