Bathroom Renovation | Jan 2013 | This homeowner wanted a complete remodel of his existing bathroom. This job is in a gated community on a golf course with homes in the 300s to the multi million dollar range. We started with a complete demisement of the existing bathroom. The stippled ceiling was changed to a smooth ceiling to give it a clean, crisp look. The shower walls and ceiling were completely removed as well as all the existing tile on the bathroom floor. We beefed up the floor system in the shower floor and ceiling as well as the tub area, repositioned the HVAC work to better fit the new floor pattern and repositioned most of the electrical work. The tub and shower area were totally replumbed to include new shower and tub valves for a total of six jets and rain head as well as an upgraded hand-held. I took the homeowner to Cosmos in Raleigh to select the marble for this project. Cosmos has a huge warehouse with a marble and granite selection that is second to none. They have an overhead crane system and can pull slabs for you to inspect, you pick your slabs and they hold them for you, my fabricator picks up your slab from Cosmos and takes it to his facility where it is customised for your job. This homeowner chose a rich Emprador Marron marble from Spain, an excellent choice as it is uncommon and has a lot of veining and an overall rich color running from browns to greys with a touch of beige. The countertops, shower curb and seat were all done in this marble as well as the border for the floor. New cabinets were installed as well as new mirrors, lighting and bath hardware. | $62k | Fayetteville, NC | |
