This young construction crew was not professional. They came seeming to know what to do and the job and once they started digging for a pipe and to lay a concrete pad in my yard- it was sure they weren’t totally skilled. The job required putting a drain pipe underground before the pad- they did not dig deep enough for the pipe to be below the frost line- I had to resign the line myself and buy and lay sand and finish that job myself. When they drilled a hole into the town storm water drain they left so much debris in it- even a whole brick- 2 weeks later I have a backed up sewer drain in my basement and I’m really hoping it’s not from their work. They would show up around 10 am and leave at 3 pm most of the time in their truck not doing work.. Also they were to put a pad in my driveway- no real equipment was being used- they needed to tamper the existing ground and that was not happening with a manual tamp- nor did they have that planned- where it was very obviously uneven ground. They framed and the framing was very off - we went out there wind leveled it out made sure that all the edges would be square with our garage- and they dismissed the work that we did saying they knew what they were doing. They were insulted that we wanted this perfect- and though we were paying them to do the job, we came out and did 1/2 the work for them. The owner was literally shaken by speaking to my husband even though he is very gentle- he just couldn’t handle any sort of confrontation and talking about expectations of the job- he said we were hurting his feelings and he felt “used”- at one point he was starting to get aggressive and his partner calmed him down. We were trying to negotiate with them and build the scope of the project together but they stormed off- not completing the job- took $1000 for terrible pipe laying work- I’m left feeling totally “used” myself where I paid for work that I had to redo and pay extra $ on top of it. These guys are just kids- they even admitted their mom does their accounting for them. I understand everyone needs to build experience but they need to be under the wing of a real reliable contractor with integrity before posing as a business and contractor and ruining peoples yards. More to the story but this is the bulk of it.

I was a little skeptical at first because they only had one review on porch. Seems like most people only review when they are upset so I had them give me an estimate anyway. When they gave me the Free estimate they explained the company has been taken over by new management in 2019. The gentlemen that I met where very nice and knowledgeable. The price was great my concrete looks amazing and I couldn’t be happier so I wanted to write them a review to say how pleased I was. 5 stars.

I actually had the work performed this past October by David Kosec of Charville Construction but I am not at all happy with the results. When he came over to spec out the job he seemed knowledgeable and gave me a great quote. When I accepted the estimated price we set a work day to perform the work. I guess I assumed that he would be doing the work or at least be on site to supervise. He sent over his young son along with another young inexperienced worker. They barely spoke and proceeded to perform the cement job. My original patio was a 12' by 12' slab and they boxed in the area with wood to pour the cement. All seemed good until I checked on them later in the day. A couple of hours later I saw them just hanging out in their van in front of my house. I assumed that they were done so I went around back to check on the work. I was shocked to see that they moved to the wooden frame to make my patio smaller to accommodate the fact that they ran out of cement. I went to the van to inquire about the problem, they calmly said that they just ran out of cement. My home is a townhouse which is part of an association. My first thought was that the board would not accept the new size of the patio and cause issues. I went back in my home and called David Kosec and he stated that they just called him to tell him what has happened. When I asked him what he was going to do, he said they will get more cement. I asked him if that would cause issues to pour new cement onto partially cured cement, he stated that this wouldn't be a problem. I didn't believe him but what was I going to do at this point. Well within 2 months the patio now has 2 large cracks and it's not level which creates a puddle when it rains. So at this point I feel I wasted $1,500 because this patio is already falling apart and it's not even a year old yet. I attempted to contact David Kosec but he has not responded as of yet. I found his company on Porch so I thought I would attempt to contact him that way.
