If I could give ZERO stars it still wouldn’t be an accurate assessment of just how HORRIBLE my experience was with this guy! Please don’t let the high thumbtack reviews fool you like they did me! My story: Juarez responded to my stair remodeling project on thumbtack and we scheduled a time for him to meet me at my residence. What turned out to be minuscule by the end was that he committed to a time and when he didn’t show up I reached out to him and that’s when he informed me he’d be there in an hour. So I wait for him to show and the very first point I reconfirm (was part of the project details in my submission on thumbtack) was how this had to be done prior to Thanksgiving as I had family coming over. I also pointed out some details on my stairway that I wanted duplicated so that everything would match. We met on the Friday prior to Thanksgiving giving him 6 days to complete a project that he said he would have done in no more than ONE day. He assured me again that it would not be a problem! First he said he’d be at my house on Monday morning and when he didn’t show up I sent him a text and he responded saying he’d now be at my house on Tuesday morning because he was having a hard time finding materials. He didn’t show up until after 12 leaving him a day and a half to get the job done. He and his helper were at my house from Tuesday afternoon until about 3:30 on Wednesday. I was in the middle of trying to juggle my maid service, children, and work when he came to me saying they were at a “stopping point” but there was still some touch up work needed and they would come back to finish at my convenience. So, I hastily wrote him a check ($1500 PAID IN FULL) and they left as I had people pulling me in all directions. Bottom line is that after guaranteeing me the job would be done prior to Thanksgiving, it wasn’t until later that evening that I had my first chance to really look at the stairs and realized there was A LOT more than just touch up to be done and that the stair risers looked absolutely HORRIBLE. They were NOTHING like the trim that I had previously pointed out I wanted the risers to match. These risers were all beat up with a thin coat of paint, protruding nails, and gaps in the seams, etc. I was in shock that this guy would actually leave the job in this condition KNOWING I had to have it done and and not to mention how it was going to look when I had a house full of people over the next day! It then dawned on me that I had paid him IN FULL and was furious that he would think this was somehow OK. I wrote him a check at 4pm on THE DAY BEFORE THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY and the check posted to my account the same day! I didn’t know that was even possible and it told me that this guy was trying to get away with something. I questioned him on things and the bottom line is that not only did he refuse to make things right by replacing the risers with what I told him I wanted that very first day, but was now saying that he “didn’t mind” coming back to finish the job but was BOOKED for the next MONTH and would come back out after the holidays! DIDN’T MIND???? REALLY? So, I have been working on the stairs myself trying to make them look as best I can as I am NOT going to wait 30+days for him to finish a job that he stated he would complete at MY CONVENIENCE, NOT HIS! I mean, who promises to be finished with a job by a certain day, and when it’s not finished on time says he’ll come back in a month to complete it???? The most unprofessional person and scam artist I’ve ever dealt with and that I will now be suing in small claims court to recover the money he STOLE from me by taking full payment for a job HALF done! Stay far, far away from JUAREZ REMODELING!!!
