Relined Chimney with Stainless Steel Liner

Apr 2016

Chimney did not have a cap for 50 years and was only cleaned once or twice. This caused the clay liner to deteriorate to that point that it started to collapse in spots causing pieces to break off and fall down to the base of the chimney. We had to clean out the base of the chimney and then reline it with a stainless steel liner.

Repoint, Top Crown with Rubber Cement & cap

Apr 2016

Chimney Crown was cracked apart and missing in spots and mortar joints were loose with missing mortar joints in places. We repointed the chimney with cement and for the top crown we used a rubberized cement called crown repair. Unlike regular cement it does not crack when water sits on it and freezes in the winter which is when most damage to crowns occur. It is specifically made for top crowns. We then installed a custom cap.
