Rocket City Concrete

Rocket City Concrete is a fraud. Tim Kennemer contracted to build a retaining wall. After $2500 down payment was made he worked less than a half of a day in three weeks and refused to finish the job unless I paid him $5000 over contract price. He is a liar, cheat and fraud. Do not hire Rocket City Concrete or Tim Kennemer.

They were hired to put in a concrete garage floor and carport but increased the price almost two fold before doing any of the work 7 September, Rocket City Concrete was hired for the original garage floor (48'x36') and quoted me $5300.00. That included excavating the area and putting in the concrete floor. He agreed to do the work on the 17th of September. During that information exchange on the 7th he was asked if he needed some money to get going. He stated, "You won't need much Greg, I like to get all the mines (meaning mine) when it's done." On that day, I gave him a check for $2000.00 in good faith money because what he said about getting his money at the end... again, good faith money to help with Bobcat rental or material... They came out on the 8th of September and looked at the area, wrote up the contract and I even added more work to pour the carport area adding on an additional $500.00 to the bid. On the 17th they came out and used a bobcat to remove the trees and start the excavation on the area. That was completed on the 17th. They didn't call or show back up until after I wrote him on the 21st, 22nd, and 24th of September. On the 24th, he finally answered me stating he was going out on that day. They didn't show up or call. Didn't show back up again and repeatedly said he was coming to work until the 3rd of October. That was the 1st and he did come out with a block and mortar guy with him on the 2nd. He stated then that the price was going to change because of materials. On the 3rd he quoted me $13500.00. On the 3rd, he requoted me $10,000.00 for the job that he originally said was (with the new carport work) $5800.00. I have subsequently hired another concrete contractor to do the work and spoke to RCC about getting my $2000.00 back. He stated that was for the work he already did... He did nothing but run a bobcat and actually make the grade 2ft. lower than what it originally was (which is why he needed a block and mortar contractor). His company's ethic is horrible. He did nothing he said he would do and above all, tried to change the bid after he came and looked at the area, wrote the contract and then tried to get more money for it.
