Bad experience, do not hire unless you want a weekend job to turn into a month long job.

I hired Joe through Home Depot. It was for a bathroom/bedroom remodel for my Mother who was in the hospital/rehab. He knew the deadline. I hired him October 3. He told me three to four days and then it turned into a week. On the sixth day his two workers (1 his daughter) walked off the job. He asked for some money up front and was paid 3450.00. He came back and asked for more money on the 19th. $1000.00 He came back three days later and asked for more. I told him no. He said he paid $500.00 for a shower fixture and I told him I don't believe you. Looked up the code and it was $154.00. His profile says honest NOT. He broke the new shower I purchased for $1967.00 by not using shims. The shower is not installed. An ADA toilet is not here, vanity, two doors and molding. The paint job on bedroom walls 4 walls counted 14 places with runs. One run at eye level over 36". I asked if they were going to put another coat. They said no. Ceiling had popcorn removed and one coat of paint. Ceiling is streaked and walls show old paint through. The archway door they were going to leave unfinished. Said door people could do it. I have no door people. They did not show up consistently and when they did had to leave often for supplies. Not prepared. He was going to go do another job on the weekend and then said he would be here. He was not here for even 5 hours. The quality of his work is shotty at best. His timetable worthless. DO NOT HIRE. He takes your money wants more and uses it on other jobs. He is Not trustworthy or honest. The floor that was to be installed-Thank God- they only cut 4 boards. The seams were going to be aligned every other one. Really? Do professionals not stagger the seams? Do not be fooled or you will regret it! He told me he didn't care what I wanted when I needed it finished and to find someone else to finish it.

My experience with Joe was mixed. I hired him to remove popcorn ceilings. He did an excellent job removing everything quickly and I was very happy with the removal and texture result. He was also much less expensive and able to start right away. He's also really friendly and easy to communicate with. However, the job did take much longer than he estimated, which was okay in this situation since I hadn't planned to start immediately and had a head start, but a little annoying. He did update me on everything and always returned calls promptly. I was also disappointed that they didn't cover up the walls and such better. When they removed the ceiling they did well in covering, but didn't cover anything when spraying the ceilings, so there was overspray on everything in the house. They touched up most of the over-spray and rerolled the worst room where touch up didn't match, but I ended scrubbing paint of the floor and fixtures. I was at the house most days working on other tasks and mentioned the over-spray, which he mostly fixed up in terms of paint and windows. He also ran out of time and the paint is thin on one of the last areas. I think he would come back out to make corrections if I asked, but I'm ready to move on and can do some touch ups myself. For the money and the major part of the work I am satisfied, but would have appreciated a little more care and attention to detail.

DO NOT HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR! EVER! Terrible experience! We hired Joe via Home Depot/Redbeacon system. Based on the reviews, price and overall first impression we decided to go with this contractor. Well, what a mistake that was. He has no attention to details at all. I have never seen sloppiest job done by a "professional". He enclosed our game room. Didn't use any drywall tape as he promised. All the corners are filled in with silicone/caulking material. So you can see all the gaps, cracks. The ceiling was painted with completely different shade of paint. Only put one coat of paint on the walls which we had to repaint. None of the nail holes were filled in. There were even 2 big screw holes left in the wall! These people are the messiest people I ever experienced! Paint, wall texture was left everywhere including carpet, furniture, TV, front porch, garage, grass. We had to buy a new 11 ft long baseboard as he totally messed up the existing one, then bought another piece that doesn't even closely match with the baseboard in the house. DO NOT HIRE! EVER!
